The only reason Nico turned emo was because Bianca died and went into isolation. By evidence shown throughout the series, I think it’s safe to assume he has Depression, (Depressive Disorder). But, another thing is also him hating himself/trying to accept who he is because he learns he is gay and likes Percy. Going back to Bianca, if she never passed, he probably would have turned out differently. Though in The Hidden Oracle, (ToA), he’s beginning to have some sort of sunshine kinda burn inside him. I think he’s starting to become his regular self though, because he is dating Will Solace, and the camp is supportive, The Seven is. Some people seem not to realize this. Sigh . . . . That was my little rant. Haha :)
