A smile crept onto her lips right then. Even though she would have truly taken the couch if he so wanted it that way, she was glad he opposed to it. She sat there for a moment as if she was contemplating her options. Slowly but surely, she pushed herself off the couch and eyed him while walking over to the bed. “Oh, so now you’re luring me into bed with you, a high end bed as you said, to share a bottle of wine? Who’s seducing who here?” She snickered and plopped down next to him, reaching over to steal a chip of his. “Throw in a piece of jerky, and you might actually succeed,” she added playfully. Luna grabbed the bottle of wine and struggled opening it for a moment before a slight pop sounded. She brought the bottle to her lips and chuckled knowing this wasn’t her best moment. Sitting in a motel bed, drenched by the rain, snacking on knock off brand goods and drinking wine from the bottle itself. Ah, what a pretty picture. She licked her lips that were now tinted in a light red from the wine and she held out the bottle for him. “Who needs cups?”
“to be clear im seducing you whilst you hold that wine. you’re like the wing man.” wesley told her with a smirk playing on his lips. turning his attention to the frankenstein looking monster on the small tv in front of them, his ears perking up at the popping of the bottle. to think this was the most comfortable wesley had been in the longest time, he had been saving for awhile for nothing in particular and now he had this opportunity to travel the country with the coolest girl he knew. the one who could mix jerky and wine and didnt complain about shifty motels. smiling at her reddened lips that made her look slightly childish, cute almost. “cups? never heard of em’.” raising the bottle towards luna before taking a rather large sip, wesley wasnt quite used to something being so sickeningly sweet yet bitter his face screwed up at the taste. “okay, strange.” he said with a nod before taking another sip and handing it back to luna. “so, were officially living off the grid. anywhere youve always wanted to go? or thing youve wanted to do?” he said leaning back on the head of the bed, wes himself had finished his bucket list long ago when boredom struck in the many months on the road.

Stripping off her jacket, she draped it over a chair by the tiny desk before walking over to her bag to fetch some dry clothes. She made her way into the bathroom, leaving the door open so she could hear him but stepping out of view to change discreetly (you know, despite him already seeing her almost naked when they went swimming). Slipping into a comfy shirt and shorts, she pulled her mess of hair into a bun before walking out and looking over at him with an amused expression. It was then she realized he was right – cheap wine would make this night, well, all the cheaper. “You’re funny if you think I’m sharing that with you,” she told him before taking a seat on the couch. She patted the cushion, sure that dust flew in the air at that moment. “I’m going to need something to get me to sleep if I’m stuck on this old thing.” She chuckled softly before holding out her hands. “Toss me some snacks… and the wine.”
wesley almost laughed as dust particles flew into the air above luna, a little taken aback she was going with his wants. but also much to his liking as he now had leverage over her. “we compromise then, you share the booze, i share the bed.” he proposed to her whilst munching on some type of ruffled chip. “i mean im not a business man luna but youd be an idiot to turn down this deal.” he added with a grin. “a bed as high end as this?” he motioned to the spotted white sheets and somewhat deflated mattress, throwing another chip in his mouth as he placed the bottle of wine on the spot next to him.

A quick roll of the eyes was followed by a soft smile at his little warning. That nickname of his had a way of making her smile without even realizing. She turned to reply, perhaps give some sort of playful remark, but was momentarily distracted now that he was shirtless. Jesus, was she a teenage girl? “Right,” she said simply before walking out of the room. She used her bag as a makeshift umbrella while running across the street in the rain. The little station was empty and had a horror movie quality to it all, but she didn’t mind. She picked up a couple bags of chips, a thing of jerky and other assorted goods. It wasn’t until she was walking over to checkout that she noticed a bottle of cheap wine over in the alcohol section. Without much thought, she added it to her little feast. Cheap wine was all she ever drank, anyways. Luna made her way back into the rain and quickly walked back into their room. Her clothes clung to her frame, hair a bit dripping down her back. She shivered and placed the bag of everything on the bed. “That gas station looked like it belonged in one of those Saw movies but man they had some good snacks.”
wesley smiled as she slipped back in clearly soaked his eyes lingering on her for a moment at her somewhat disheveled appearance, her hair dripping from the rain and shirt clinging to her waist. glancing to the side before he got carried away, instead grabbing the tv remote and settling back on the bed. “now theres a good idea!” he said shifting through the channels till he found what looked like to be a black and white 1940s horror flick. reaching over to the bag to fish out the chips but finding himself grasping onto a sizeable bottle of wine. “is there something i should know? wine and a shady motel?” he asked amusement clear in his voice, the distant sounds of terror echoing from the tv. “if you wanted to seduce me youre doing a hell of a job blue eyes.” he joked with her.

It was probably the most sensible thing to do rather than driving through the rain. The streets were slick and their surroundings were far from familiar. She peered out of the windshield to look up at the motel with its neon vacancy sign that flickered just a bit. While some may have much rather stayed at a hotel, Luna didn’t mind it a bit. In fact, she practically lived in motels across this country whenever she moved out of town at the fresh age of nineteen. Once everything was said and done, she helped carry things into their little room. He wasted no time by falling back on the bed and claiming it as his own. Her bag slipped from her shoulder and onto the floor as she playfully scoffed in response. “Yeah, not gonna happen. You better scoot your butt over,” she told him before plopping down on the other side of the bed. She stayed there for a moment, eyes focusing on the strange stain on the ceiling. In reality she was just gathering her thoughts, but before he could comment on it, she spoke. “Think I could make money off of telling people that stain looks like Jesus?” She snickered softly and sat up in bed before climbing off entirely. She picked up her bag and looked out the window to see a small gas station across the street through the rain. Looking over her shoulder back at Wesley, she asked, “I’m going to get some snacks from that gas station over there. You want anything? You know, other than that bed that you think you’re getting all to yourself.”
“oh come on im like the size of two yous, i need the leg space luna.” he whined on before stretching out in efforts to push her off the bed. distracted at the proposition of a stain resembling jesus. “people are so mindless these days im sure you could.” he said with a laugh, reaching for his bag and the change of clothes inside. “mm yeah i could go for some jerky and chips, and to repay you ill let you have a pillow for the couch.” he said pausing outside of the bathroom and the shower he desperately wanted, removing his shirt in the process. “be quick blue eyes, dont talk to strangers blah blah.” wes warned her out of habit mainly, they were in a strange town after all and she had a knack for finding trouble. ducking into the shower and the hot stream of water, he could feel his muscles relaxing in minutes. wesleys thoughts were for once somewhat calm, not the usual scramble. obviously feeling at ease even though he was on the road yet again, lunas presence was more then just a distraction she was what kept him grounded it seemed like. when he was on the road before it was a constant state of partying for him, always wanting to be fucked up to withstand his mind. when he heard the door opening he reached for a towel and shut the water off, running the cloth through his hair a bit as he pulled on a pair of sweats, heading back into their tiny space.

A small smile pulled on her rosy lips. Ah, time travel. That was an impossible she wanted nothing more than to be possible. “Me too,” she mumbled in agreement. There were so many things in her life that could have been mended by time travel, not to mention how she had always been told she was born in the wrong decade. She couldn’t disagree. Luna pulled her legs into the passenger seat and rested her arms on her knees while she thought of her answer. A small chuckle slipped before she even spoke knowing all too well how strange it was that one of her favorite songs painted a picture much like the one they were in. It was just a simple quiet tune that reminded her of simpler days, riding in the passenger seat and looking out at the stars above in the sky. Even though their skies now were particularly cloudy, it was still reminiscent. “Well one of them has to be Runaround Sue by Dion. It’s an old song from the sixties and I swear it’s impossible to be sad while listening to it,” she told him with a grin then added, “And then there’s this song called Passenger Seat by Death Cab For Cutie. It’s not much, but it’s nostalgic. And… I don’t know. Kind of reminds me of us right now.” She smiled to herself and just rested there for a moment while trying to think of a question to ask him. Figuring they could go all night with the game, she decided to not him with such tough questions. “Are you wanting to stop and stay in some town tonight or do you want to just keep driving?”
luna seemed like the type to love old music, appreciating what most couldnt. “isnt all of their music just them like brooding?” wes said raising an eyebrow in mockery, he actually really liked death cab but he liked teasing the blonde more. he looked around them as the rain set in heavier, deciding her question was probably good timing. “yeah we can get off at the next exit, i dont think we can outdrive this rain.” he responded pulling over into the exit lane, passing the town sign as they headed in. the town didnt look particulary sketchy as they drove through the empty streets, pulling over and parking when the neon motel sign came in to view. a long blue bungalow divided into tiny motel rooms and a sign that indicated there was a receptionist of sorts.“home sweet home.” wes got out of the car and headed for the main office, knowing he needed to check for availability before hunkering out their luggage. when the keys were in his hand he thanked the lady and headed back out to the car, dangling the keys as he headed for the trunk. “we are room 3, so..right there.” he said pointing to the large number on the red door not too far from them. grabbing their bags he headed for the room, letting them in to reveal a queen bed, yellow walls and daunting couch. “unsurprisingly they dont have any single beds available so this is it.” he said motioning towards the bed before diving down to it, relishing in the comfort of a mattress after multiple hours in the rigid drivers seat. turning to look at her with a childish grin “by all means you can grab the couch.”

It didn’t matter how simple that question was. It would always provoke a much more complicated answer and showed parts of people that didn’t show as often. He seemed rather irked that she would even to ask such a thing, though she let it roll off her back. The subject showed his pessimistic side and she couldn’t help but to look away and focus her eyes on the lines on the road that came and vanished. She didn’t know what kind of answer she expected or, better yet, what she wanted to hear. She was so used to his enthusiasm and spontaneity that this suddenly pessimistic view caught her off guard. But did she feel any different? Of course not. Every word he spoke rang true in her head, so she supposed there was no harm in his pessimism when it’s all she’s ever known as well. At his inquiry, she didn’t look at him. Something about looking over into his eyes made her want her to tell him anything he wanted to know. It was a terrifying feeling for someone like Luna. “Me? Oh, no. I mean, close once. But no.” Her mind drifted back to the boy she grew up with, the boy next door that loved her with all his heart and in return she left without a single word to anyone – including him. She thought of the love her father had for her mother and how that same love crippled him whenever she passed. Heartache – that’s all she’s ever known love to do. “I guess I’m on the same page as you, I don’t know. I believe in love, but… I’ve seen it break people more than anything. I’ve stayed far away from it my whole life.” And maybe he would have expected a different answer. Despite the mysteries and pain that laid behind her eyes, Luna had this inevitable knack for always seeing the good in the world. She was kind, tenderhearted, and cared for anyone she met. To hear that she looked at something as beautiful as love as nothing but a cautionary tale, well, it was out of character. She cleared her throat and tried to think of a question. Maybe this game was only designed to ever go towards that deeper side they tended to avoid. She purposely tried to think of something creative. “What is one impossible thing you’d like to make possible?”
wesley nodded at her answer, it surprised him of course but not in a bad light. from how reserved she was when he first met her it only made sense, blue eyes staring ahead at the open road as she agreed with him. the topic bringing out a part he didnt really like of himself. making shitty decisions most of the time took all the stress from him, made him laidback and open to lifes adventures. but he had never stayed in one town until meeting luna, he wasnt as interested to head out when the first 3 months passed. he had gotten riled at a couple bars now and then as he didnt like being talked down to but luna would never come to that sort of thing. she only recently started partaking in his wild side. “time travel.” he answered without missing a beat, that was wesleys ultimate to be in any place at anywhere in the past or future. sounding very marty mcfly with his answer, rain started to drizzle as they whizzed by another town. “okay, if you could only listen to two songs for the rest of your life.. which would they be?”
feelinvented:
“You sure you aren’t still a really big fan of the moon?” she inquired playfully with the slight wiggle of her eyebrows. Ah, even she could make puns about her name. Luna let out a chuckle and found his childhood memory rather endearing. Children often have this habit of wanting to be something so much bigger than themselves; something so much bigger than this world. It was an admirable ambition that sadly most lost throughout the years of harsh reality. But like everything else, Luna remembered that feeling. Everything felt possible, like no dream was too big or small. It felt very much like this open road in front them. Perhaps that’s what made this getaway so desirable. Luna was tired of feeling like every little thing surrounding her were nothing but impossible tasks and dreams. She needed something free, open… and so much bigger than herself. At his next inquiry, she found herself pulling away from her thoughts to let out a snicker. Her first crush? It took her a moment to think, trying to think back to any time she felt anything for anybody other than the overused cliché of the boy next door. Then it hit her. “I’m not sure if this counts, but Indiana Jones.” She laughed a bit more and shook her head while thinking back to those happier times of her youth- the ones worth remembering. “I was so obsessed with those movies. I had convinced myself that I would one day grow up and be just like him. You know, after I marry him of course,” she told him and smiled a bit embarrassed, “One year I dressed up as him for Halloween. Everyone thought I was so cute and tried calling me Indy all night, but I’d remind them that I’m not Indiana. Oh, no. I was Mrs. Luna Jones, his treasure hunting wife.” She snickered a little more and rested her head back on the headrest. It felt good to laugh and reflect on things in her life. Lord knows she hadn’t thought about a single memory of her past in quite some time. She trained her brain to drown it out. Looking over at him, she felt a possibly heavy question on the tip of her tongue. In hindsight it was a simple question and she wasn’t expecting him to bleed his heart out to her for it. But she was curious. “Hmm. Do you believe in love?”
wesley threw his head back in laughter at her answer, the car swerving a little from the motion but they were alone on the highway in the late hours of the night. “i could see that, you’d be a pretty cute gold digger.” he joked with her as he tapped his fingers on the wheel to the beat of whatever 70s rock song had come on. mindlessly drumming whilst waiting to continue on with their game, the seconds that ticked by as she looked at him made him start to feel uneasy. wes tried not to roll his eyes at her question, which seemed an answer in itself. “does it matter?” he responded with a bitter taste in his mouth, he didnt want to seem like the pessimistic ass he knew he was when it came to love. but much to his dismay he had endured the cliche romance, fallen for all the little things, became completely invested in one person only to be betrayed. but that had been packed away in his mind for quite some time, all the betrayal and hurt he refused to endure was left behind in that godforsaken town. though when it came to women wes wasnt disrespectful he was upfront, and most of the time the women that kept him company didnt seem to mind. sure he could like a girl, flirt with them, kiss them, take them home but his actions never developed feelings behind it. wes reminded himself though that this was just 20 questions, luna was only curious. “look i think love exists for some people and lust exists for some. i think the two are confused a lot, but sure i believe in love. but i dont think that its for everyone, theres a lot of bullshit that comes with it you know?” he told her trying to explain his opinion in the least aggravated way possible, wondering if she got the sense that he was one of those people. “why? have you ever been..?” he asked trailing off slightly, curious as to her stance on love and wether she had gone through the trials and tribulations.

Their conversations had always been light. He always seemed to make her laugh, bring out that playful side of her that she even forgot about. They never took the time to dig deep, really understand one another. Luna, of course, felt like she took the blame for this. She was a tightly bound book with white blank pages – you couldn’t even read her if you wanted to. Even though she was sure the idea of this little game would bite her in the ass, she knew it was about time to open up to one another. Even if it was just a little. The girl leaned against the door while looking over at him as he spoke. Just in the measly two minutes of him answering she learned more about him than she had in all their time of knowing one another. “Sounds beautiful,” she commented with a warm smile, always a fan of living by the water considering she came from a small coastal town herself. But her smile didn’t last too long. Once he prompted the question of siblings, her gaze went away from him to look at the road. She tried to not let her smile noticeably fade in that moment. She always tried to have a strong expression. “Uh, yes. A brother- Bryce.” But then something happened that she didn’t expect- the smile on her lips was genuine. It had been far too long since she even uttered his name. The memory of him, although saddened her, still left her feeling love in her heart. “He practically raised me. He was my best friend.” The sudden past tense of her words changed the atmosphere just slightly. She looked over at Wes and now presented the ghost of a smile. “He passed away when I was nineteen.” Her eyes trailed back to the road in front of them as her fingertips absentmindedly played with the ends of her hair. Not wanting to dwell on the memory, she cleared her throat and asked, “Um, okay, what did you want to be when you were a kid? You know how adults always asked, what do you want to be when you grow up? What did you always say?”
wesley smiled back at her, flashing his pearly whites as he noticed how good it felt to tell someone something personal. not a drunken story from a crazy time in his life, but a time where things were still calm and innocent. unable to help noticing her face drop slightly when he asked about her family, maybe 20 questions had gotten too personal wes thought. when she perked up again he stayed quiet, wanting to hear as much as he could about her and her family. remembering the two guys he had seen in the picture back at her apartment, he had never asked before about her family which seemed strange but he figured thats why they got along so well. they didnt care about histories, prodding into pasts, figuring out who was infront of them. wesley liked luna for all she was willing to give. ‘im sorry.’ ‘you must miss him.’ he thought of what to say but nothing seemed right, he knew she mustve heard it a hundred times. he wondered if she was running from that loss, or if thats why she started. he was relieved at the change in subject, not wanting to say the wrong thing and sound like an ass. “hmm, an astronaut i think, i know i was a really big fan of the moon for a 7 year old. star wars was a big deal, space seemed like the coolest in my mind. i figured if i couldnt be an alien then an astronaut was the next best thing.” he finished remembering all the cardboard rocket ships that were made in his childhood, even then he wanted to be far away from home he chuckled softly at the thought. “my turn.” wes grinned, humming as he thought of what to ask, he needed something light hearted to make her laugh. “who was your first crush? boy? girl?” he said nudging her teasingly, thinking of luna crushing on anyone let alone preteen luna made a grin appear on his face.
feelinvented:
There was no one else she’d rather have by her side than him. That was simply a fact. Luna was naturally a loner, someone who flew solo on most things. Wesley was the exception. “Rock. Oh! No, oldies.” It was a perfect balance between old rock songs and pop medleys that didn’t hurt her ears. The moment she began to hear Come And Get Your Love by Redbone begin to play while he surfed channels, she smiled brightly. “Stop! That’s the station.” Swaying back and forth, she mouthed the lyrics while bobbing her head a little. Music was one of those rare things that could bring out a whole other side to Luna. Then again, Luna was full of different sides. “You know, since we’re going to be spending a lot of time together now, I thought maybe we could play a game,” she told him as she looked over at him with a small smile. “Maybe we can just… ask questions about each other. You know, get to know each other even better than before. I could ask a question, then you could, etc.” It wasn’t much of a game, though she often just labeled it as the question game. Truthfully, she hated playing it. She didn’t like others asking questions about her, but her curiosity got the best of her. She knew Wesley of course, but they often didn’t speak on their backgrounds and such. “For example, I’d probably ask you something like… well, where did you grow up?”
wes felt a smile grow on his face as Luna swayed to the music, looking the most herself he had seen in a while, if ever. switching his gaze back to the road whilst she propositioned him with a game for them to play. glancing at her warily, wesley wasnt one for the get to know you kind of games, especially when it’s luna asking, he realized how much had remained in the dark between them. luna was right though, theyd get to know eachother sooner or later, he also couldnt ignore the obvious curiosity he held towards the blonde in the seat next to his. nodding along with her instructions, “seems simple enough.” he responded. having to think for a second at the name of his hometown, the one he had tried to avoid at all costs. “tybee island, it’s in georgia, right on the coast.” he responded straightforwardly, the answer somewhat tense and irritated sounding he realized. “ my parents werent around much growing up so me and my sister would stay with my uncle most of the time, he had this awesome beach house just a couple steps from the ocean, me and shae would be out there for hours everyday. ” he said trying to push down his barrier slightly, a smile coming to his face at the memory. a horn sounded behind him that the light had turn green whilst he had travelled down memory lane, looking over at luna with a questioning gaze. “do you have any siblings?”

This had been the second biggest risk she took in life, even if Wesley didn’t consider it much of a risk for himself. To her, leaving without a reason, without notice, without a plan… was the biggest risk she could take. Yet, just the same, it came natural to her. She didn’t think about the repercussions that would inevitably weigh heavy on her shoulders later on. Running away was all she had ever known. After her bags were loaded, she climbed into the passenger seat and found her eyes locked on the road ahead. They were actually leaving. For how long? Who knows. Where to? Who cares. Those questions were left to be unanswered. She looked over at Wesley and took a deep breath before nodding in approval. Last time she had done something like this, she was alone. It was nice to have him, although she found herself curious as to why this came so naturally for so- even more so than it did for her. Luna was always a perceptive one, always able to give one look at a person and figure them out. Wes was always a bit of a puzzle, just as she knew she herself was one, too. “Sounds good to me,” she confirmed, “just tell me when you want me to drive. I’m nocturnal.” She snickered and turned on his music to distract any unwanted thoughts. A smile appeared on her lips as she looked at him. “Thanks for doing this with me.”
wesley hummed at her driving offer, nothing that she was a night owl. he wasnt a morning person either, but he liked both daytime and night time, both offering different excitement to him as he needed to stay entertained. turning his attention to the music that filled the car, nodding his head contently as they drove through the empty streets. “thanks for asking.” he smiled in response, it was hard not to when she was looking at him like that. there was some surprise and genuine gratitude, she probably never thought he would agree to this. no sane person would to be honest, but there wasnt much that he wouldnt do with her. there wasnt many adventures he would turn down either to be fair but it had to be with the right people for it truly to be worth it. wesley knew this was. “so pop, country, rock? which is your pick?” he asked when the ads came on the current radio station, fiddling around with the tune dial till the annoying cheery voice of the vacation company turned to static.

With the playful narrow of her eyes, she shoved him a bit before walking over to grab her small potted succulent. The girl was crazy about her plants and she was never too sure why. There was just something nice about nurturing something and watching it grow. It felt like one of the only things in her life she had actual control and stability over. Luna glanced at her place before her eyes met Wesley’s once more. She realized then he hadn’t been in home nearly as much as she imagined he must’ve. It made her wonder how he felt okay enough to take this spontaneous leap with her even if he didn’t know her all too well. But she knew him. Maybe that was unfair, but she shook that thought away quickly. “Okay… I think I’m ready.”
“the adventure awaits.” he said with a nod, standing up and walking over to her. grabbing her bags and hauling them over his shoulder, looking around the home before giving her a wink and heading out.“fortunately my roommates kick me out every so often, so all my shits in the car.” he called out to her whilst sliding her suitcase in the trunk next to his own, it wasnt entirely true, he did have a lot of his stuff with him but his roommates would never kick him out. he was the one that paid the rent half the time, it was just precautions to have his stuff on him. something he didnt want to explain to luna, he packed light always, nothing had sentimental value to wes anymore. “so i say we drive until exhaustion hits, try to get the most mileage before we find someplace to stay. sound alright?” he suggested as he turned the key in the ignition, he had done this numerous times before if that wasnt obvious but always alone. it was when he needed time to clear his head, this time however he wanted to make it as unclear as possible, get as entirely lost as he could.

This was really happening. She should have known Wesley would have been up to doing something like this. Maybe he was the reason she was feeling risky, feeling like it was about damn time to start living. Wesley was like a massive wave and she was just a stagnant stream. She wanted to learn how to move again. They climbed out of his car and she scrambled for her keys as they walked up to her place. She opened the door and placed the keys in a small bowl on a table near the door. “Make yourself at home. I’ll pack a bag,” she told him as she made her way over to her bedroom. It went by so quickly. She pulled the suitcase out from under her bed, threw clothes in and whatever seemed necessary. She didn’t allow herself to think too much, didn’t allow herself to be caught up in materialistic things. As she rolled her suitcase into the living room, she glanced around to see if there was anything she needed. “Oh,” she mumbled to herself while reaching over for a framed photo. It was an old picture of her, her brother, and her father sitting on a dock with fishing poles in hand. She was only seven years old in the picture. She smiled gently at it before placing it in her bag. Looking over at Wesley, she chuckled. “Would you judge me if I brought one of my plants with me?”
“okay.” wesley responded with a nod as he followed her inside. grey eyes scanning the room slowly, finding and sitting on a lonesome couch. looking around him trying to search for something that hinted at her history, to the side of him that he saw some framed photos. it was luna as a child sitting with who he assumed was her father and brother due to the resemblance. he couldnt help but wonder why she had never mentioned a brother, though she hadnt mentioned much of anything when it came to her family. he heard her bustling around in her room and when her footsteps came treading into the living room he made sure to cast his sights elsewhere. pretending to be very invested in one of the books near him, looking at her when she reached for the same photo. the smile on her face made it seem as if it was a fond memory but the strain in her eyes told him something else. “honestly yes.” he responded with a grin, amusement dancing in his eyes at her question. “but ill try to stay open minded.”
feelinvented:
“Yeah, I do,” she answered him confidently. Luna had spent her life feeling nothing but alone. She moved away from home alone, she spent most of her nights alone. She had finally grown tired of the loneliness, and Wesley was the only one who ever made her feel something other than that. As crazy as it might’ve seemed, traveling with him felt like something she desperately wanted. Something she desperately needed. And for some strange reason, Luna didn’t imagine he’d agree. She figured he’d laugh or simply think she was joking. Hearing him simply say okay made her realize the gravity of the moment. Were they really going to do this? If she thought about it too much, then they’d never leave. A wide smile pulled on her lips. “Yeah? You’d really go with me?”
“i really would.” he said his smile mirroring hers, it wasnt a monumental decision or anything for him. it was more time with luna and more of leaving his past behind and running forward at full speed. “but if we dont go now we’ll never, lets go get your stuff.” wes insisted to her, knowing that once her adrenaline diminished her want would disappear too thats just how it went. it was now or never. opening the car door before luna could have the chance to disagree, if she even wanted to at that. he’d been in her place once or twice he thought, once to return her wallet she had left in his car but he never actually got to look around. luna remaining the mystery she always appeared to be, wes didnt think she meant to seem so evasive, there was probably years of hurt he imagined. but he was never one to pry. “come on blue eyes any day now.” he called out as he proceeded to walk to the front door.
feelinvented:
Her eyes focused on the road in that moment. What did she want to do? Where did she want to go? Lord, she didn’t have a clue. For someone as responsible and level headed as Luna, it was times like this where she didn’t think. If she thought too much, then she wouldn’t pull through then simply go back to her apartment to wallow about what could have been. With a simple shrug of her shoulders, she answered simply. “I don’t know, maybe a bit of both.” And it was true. A part of her ached for that little escape, yet the girl had spent her whole life running away. It was all she’s ever known. “I can go anywhere. Maybe everywhere.” She chuckles softly and allows herself to think for a moment. Instead of talking herself out of it, she suddenly thought of a new idea. Luna looked over at Wesley. “Come with me.”
wesley nodded his head at her response, understanding how they both could seem appealing to her. lunas quiet chuckles make a small smile reach his face at the fact that she likes her possibilities, something she couldnt see a few hours ago. to go everywhere and anywhere sounded like an adventure wes hadnt thought of, he was always comfortable in jumping from shitty to shittier towns. not so much finding the ones that brought him a sense of happiness, maybe because everywhere he went feigning happiness was easier then seeking it. is that what luna felt too? ‘come with me’ wesley tried his best to restrain the wide grin that desperately wanted to spread. “you want me to go with you?” he repeated leaning back in his seat, wether it was to her or himself didnt really matter, the adrenaline rush kickstarted again right then. the thought of going away with luna was one he hadnt considered, she had been the one keeping him tied to this town if he really thought about it. no family, some friends and a shitty basement apartment he shared with them wasnt much to leave behind. they had reached lunas place in the midst of their talking, parking the car and looking over at her.“okay.” wes told her in the next moment with a slight shake of his head, not entirely sure what he was agreeing to though it didnt really matter to him. it was another adventure after all, wesley wouldnt turn down those.
ncturally:
aiden just nodded a response as he loosened a the grip on the steering wheel just a bit. “better be a no one.” he said, through his teeth and in a bit of a mumble. he smiled a bit as she touched his hand but pulled away just as she pulled hers away as well. aiden was extremely cautious. if she looked at him in a loving way, he’d get mad. he even had a separate cell phone just for her as well. he managed to hollow out a law book he got in college and kept it in his office, just because he knew his wife doesn’t go in his office and would never touch a book. he couldn’t risk her texting him at the wrong time, especially since his spouse used his phone a lot. the male pulled the car out of the parking lot as he began driving off. “so how was your day, love?”
alice tried her best to not look affected by the clear unwantedness of her touch. knowing that aiden wasn’t trying to be hurtful, it was precautions, she was the secret. or rather they were. “well you're here now so not entirely horrendous.” she responded with a small smile, evading the subject of school. aly didnt like bringing attention to anything that made her appear more young to him, when it was just them she didnt want him to think of her like that. she wasnt a naive 18 year old to be fair, she had experienced and explored much more then girls her age. she was still naive in aidens eyes to be sure but she didn’t mind all that much. “and you?”
