urgent mutual aid need (before October 24th)
I was in contact with someone through my broader leftist circles, who's having an emergency. Please read what they've said below, and spread this around:
My name is Zephyr, I'm a 24 year old trans masculine, nonbinary human, happily in love with a trans man. Living our gayest little life with our 2 cats. I was a hairstylist by trade before covid. I quit 1 week into them opening the salons from shutdown because I realized that even with the guidelines in place, my health was at risk with my medical history. Along with both of my completely disabled and immune compromised parents, to which covid can be fatal.
So I had to scramble to get a job, but most places were on a hiring freeze because of the pandemic, so I got a job at Home Depot. I do not want to sell my soul to Home Depot but it's what I could get and I like to eat and so do our cats. It is a seasonal position, and they just cut my hours. My boyfriend works as many hours as his work will give him, working the graveyard hours as a delivery driver.
We were caught up on our bills until covid, and then with my job change we fell behind. The landlord refused to give us any lenancy whatsoever. I finally got her to agree to reducing the late fee in half 4 months into covid.
We are now at $2,400 back due. I just had to do a virtual drag show to keep our electric from getting shut off and now this.
I am a communist so of course I reached out to the comrades, they've given me a few different routes to go legally, but this is where I am at. We were given a 3 day pay-or-quit notice.

Several comrades are trying to help them connect with local orgs/pro bono legal aid, but regardless of what happens they'll need money to make it through. From each according to ability, to each according to need.
