The text describes a painful scene from the life of a family suffering from the ravages of war and continuous displacement. The narrator's older sister and sister-in-law were pregnant during these difficult times. Due to the displacement and unstable conditions, they endured their pregnancies amidst great fears and hardships. The older sister gave birth to a beautiful baby named Amir, while the sister-in-law gave birth to a child named Malak, both during the war.
The newborns live in unhealthy conditions in temporary tents, leading to respiratory infections and slow weight gain due to the scarcity of infant formula. The overcrowded field hospital was the family's only medical refuge, but it was insufficient due to limited resources.
My brother's son, Muhammad, is a beloved five-year-old child, but he suffers from a serious illness called "polio," which requires continuous and expensive treatment for him to live like other children. Our hearts break every day as we see him suffer, unable to afford the treatment he needs.
The family was forcibly evacuated from Rafah to Deir al-Balah, where only ruins remain, exacerbating their suffering. Doctors have confirmed that keeping the children in these unhealthy conditions will negatively affect their growth and full recovery. The text reflects the suffering of families in Gaza and the harsh conditions they live in, highlighting the health and humanitarian challenges faced by children in conflict areas.
