“Okay definitely flirting but I was shit at it which I will blame my lack of sleep for that, I’m so much better. I promise.” It wasn’t a lie but it also wasn’t the complete truth. If anything Luke was basically dateless growing up with the awkward ways he used to be. He was surprised he ended up having a girlfriend in high school at all. “No, no. It’s not that I don’t like it I’m just terrible when it comes to art. I can barely even write my own name with good penmanship.” He chuckled, not minding revealing that little piece of information. “So, Robin, do you mind if I keep you company while you do the mural? Maybe I’ll learn a thing or two about painting and what not.”
Robin chuckled at the other’s words and gave him a small shrug. “ Well, I guess we’ll just have to see about that, huh? ” Robin wasn’t going to mention how she actually enjoyed his company -- and the flirting -- though, there was no need to add onto the guy’s ego just yet. The blonde couldn’t help but grin at the guy’s comment on his penmanship. She definitely was the opposite, but that was mainly because she’d perfected the art of handwriting and lettering while being bored in class during high school, which was practically every day. “ Sure. You can stay -- maybe you’ll actually learn something today. Perhaps you might even be able to help me out, painting this in in the end. ”

Luke thought that line would’ve worked better than that but he was wrong. Considering how quick it took him to come up with it, he assumed he’d get some props for it. “I was joking… and also kind of flirting?” He chuckled, shaking his head. He needed to work on his whole flirting department apparently. “Let me start over,” he said, taking a spin to indicate the ‘starting over’. He extended his hand and introduced himself, “Hi, I’m Luke and I think your art is coming along very well. Hopefully you can forget my terrible attempt at trying to get your number.”
Robin let out a soft chuckle at the other’s comment. “ Kind of? ” The blonde crossed her arms, not really caring weather the paint from her hands stained the blouse she wore. It was bound to get stained either way. “ Dude, you really need to step up your game if you want to be somewhat subtle about it. ” Not like Robin minded the fact that the handsome guy was even paying her attention. Not at all. When the guy extended his hand and introduced himself, Robin shook it with a small nod. “ Robin, and I think it’s nice to meet you. ” She glanced back at her mural. “ So what, you don’t like it? I’d suggest you’d be nice, I might actually forgive you for the terrible flirting. ”

Med school was everything it intended to be – sleepless nights, piles of coursework, minimal time for anything else other than studying – and yet Luke found himself taking a break from it all and just wanted to head back to his apartment to take nap before his next lab. Passing through the hallway that lead to where he needed to get, he noticed a mural being painted which was a little unusual considering how Harvard had their whole red bricks aesthetic. That wasn’t what stood out to him though, it was the person behind the mural. That nap he wanted to take could wait, for now he was drawn to this girl and he didn’t even know who she was. “Are you vandalizing the property? That’s like thousands of dollars to pay in damage but you know, if I get your name maybe I could put in a good word for you. Oh and your number so I could give you a call back with the verdict.”
Robin glanced up when she heard a voice. She hadn’t expected anyone to talk to her, though the words she’d heard basically made sense with what she was doing. No one else was messing up the walls. The blonde turned around to face the incredibly tall -- and handsome guy. She let out a short, soft laugh at his comment, glanced away and got herself together. She turned back and pressed her lips together into a small smile. “ You’re calling this vandalizing? ” Robin wasn’t just going to give her number to a total stranger. Especially not at a place like this. Besides, it was way more fun to make him sweat a little. “ Good to know people here appreciate art. ”

The fact that an actual, proper Ivy League college had decided Robin was good enough to paint their mural, despite her lack of college experience or any experience really, was completely mind-blowing. Sure, she’d followed courses and trained herself in her art every single day, but still. The hallways were somewhat dreary, but the sketch on the wall itself already showed its potential, something Robin was definitely happy about. She’d started painting the small accents in the mural, one paintbrush in her hand and the other behind her ear, stuck in her hair. She was most likely covered in paint and very likely had some of it on her cheek as well. Robin didn’t care though, no one really saw her anyway. No one really cared until it was finished. And Robin didn’t care much about them, she was completely focused on applying her paint to the wall.

“No.” He responded, with a serious expression on his face. But as Riley would know, he was just messing with her. Kind of. He understood what she has just gone through, not that he knew the physical pain by experience, but he was clearly knowledgable on the matter and what it took from a person. All the did was plant his seed and wait with no pains whatsoever. Thomas was excited about this whole parenthood thing, he had no clue what was going to happen or even if he’d be good at it, but he was happy that their little family was growing. Holding out his arms, he made sure he was careful when carrying Sophie and that she was comfortable. Then taking a seat right next to Riley on the couch, sliding a bit back onto the couch so he was comfortable too. “She looks all cute now but then at 3 am she’s going to turn into the devil.”
Riley threw her head back with a soft chuckle at his response. She hadn’t expected anything else, but the confirmation just proved how well the two of them knew each other. Honestly, the second little Sophie left her hands, Riley felt a wave of relief wash over her. She loved the tiny baby to death and would gladly give everything she ever had up for just those adorable chubby cheeks, but she was exhausted. Not having to worry about hurting or squishing the baby, not having to worry what she was doing wrong now, it was definitely something she didn’t know she needed, but definitely did. She leaned back into the couch and watched the two loves of her life together. This was definitely a mental picture, a moment she’d never forget. “ She’ll probably be basically that kid from The Incredibles. ” Riley agreed with a soft chuckle as she let the little girl grasp her finger with that tiny hand. It was more than enough to make her heart melt. This little girl was hers. Theirs. And no one could take that away from them.
amareism:
“I know that, I was joking.” He said referring to the door being unlocked. Even if both of them were home or Sophie was older, that door would remain unlocked. Thomas was only a father for less than 48 hours and he was already overprotective of his girls and making sure they were comfortable. “I know I’m asking a lot of questions but this is our first child and even though we know more than most because of what we do, I can’t help it.” He said letting out a sigh followed by a small smile. “I’ll order you some food and then I get to hold her.” Thomas pulled out his phone from his pocket and began ordering food for the two, he probably hadn’t eaten in a good while either being tentative of his family the whole time. After doing that, he dug into the baby bag to get the little bottle of Purell and squirting a few drops onto his hands. Rubbing his hands with the sanitizer he walked towards Riley again. “Alright hand her over it was a team effort, she’s mine too,” he joked.
“ Can I still pull the ‘I just gave birth and I’m very exhausted, so I might not pick up on what is a joke and what is serious’ card? ” Riley chuckled as she sat down on the couch. Honestly Riley got the way Thomas was feeling -- she had no clue what she was doing. When he mentioned how he was going to order them some food and then he’d get Sophie, Riley pressed her lips together and let out a soft huff. “ Fine. ” Riley glanced down at the little girl in her arms. Every single time she looked at that adorable chubby little face, her heart just melted. So when Thomas came to take their daughter from her, her heart broke a little. The little girl had been in her arms so much in the past few hours that as soon as she lifted the baby and made sure Thomas held her well enough so she wouldn’t fall, she felt empty. She was so going to be that mum. “ Alright you better come and sit here, though. ” Riley chuckled as she patted the empty spot on the couch.
After a long soccer practice Isobel finally made it to her dorm room, surprised to find it empty. She wasn’t sure where Nicolette was hiding, but it wasn’t really her business. The blonde let herself fall on her bed, dropping her bag on the floor. The sound of the door opening made her sit back up, she watched her roommate walk in. “ So where have you been, huh? Hot date? ” The blonde joked as she shifted slightly on the bed to get more comfortable.

amareism:
“Be careful there’s the step there,” he told Riley with one arm wrapped around her waist and the other holding the bag the hospital had given them as their ‘starter’ kit even though they were more than prepared to welcome their first baby home. Still guiding her to the front door, he set down the bag for a second while he found his keys and unlocked the door to their home. “Next time I should leave this thing unlocked,” he joked about the unlocked part, but knowing the two of them he knew there was going to be another kid on the way in a year or two. “Okay what do I bring you? Are you hungry? I can cook something up or we can order in. Do you think she’s hungry?”
It was the strangest thing, coming home for the first time with two other human beings instead of just one. Just the fact that she was holding the tiniest human in her arms, and that she was all hers. Well, theirs. Riley let Thomas guide her into their home as she payed more attention to the little girl, making sure she was as well as she could possibly be. She had to admit that becoming a mother -- not just the nine months preparing for it, but the actual being a mother of a living human -- had changed her. Riley glanced around as she listened to Thomas’ words. “ One, we’re never leaving this door unlocked ever. ” She started. A laugh left her lips as she realised how concerned Thomas was being. “ Okay, Thomas, sit down, you’re making me, and this little thing very nervous. She’s not hungry, I fed her less than twenty minutes ago. This girl however -- ” Riley gestured at herself with her free hand, “ -- is very hungry. At this point you can literally give me anything and I’ll be satisfied. ”
