Soulmate AUs make me suffer

I’ve been thinking for a long time that soulmate is the ultimate cute feel happy AU, (OFC some people are able to make it angst but,, please)

As a polyam I have had this question; What if someone has multiple soulmates? Are they all meant to be poly, or do some people just have more than one soulmate? I can see that if three people have the other two show as soulmates, then sure! A nice poly dynamic! But if one person has like five different people show up as soulmates, then what? Soulmate AUs are kind of a comfort thing for me. I want to believe that there is something as sweet, as meant to be. I love and hate that most AUs don’t have set rules or how it’s supposed to be, but this uncertainty makes me feel bad for some reason. I personally like the SM AU where two people just realize that their souls feel warm, and they have this connection, where they just know that “Ah, my soulmate is staring right at me!” Sometimes I add a rule where the both(or more) realize their feelings for each other and boom. Now you are surrounded by the most comforting warmth ever. Cute stuff. Feeling such things multiple times could lead to people thinking that they were not meant to be with the first one, or even that the first experience wasn’t even real, which could write to real good angst, where yeah- pal, you have multiple soulmates. Do you just pick? Do you make it work? What’s gonna happen. I need someone or something to just, give me, the rules… please aaaaaa.

Sorry, it’s 2 am, I wanna write something super sweet but all my thoughts turn really dark :(

It’s ALSO worth saying that police dogs serve a significant role in worsening police brutality. A dog trained to attack a human will maim them. A cop looses a police dog on someone, and that person is expected to peacefully cooperate while a dog is trying to tear their limbs off. It is very easy for those massive wounds to get infected. It is an absurd amount of violence. And beyond the initial attack, the fact that a “poor sweet innocent doggo” did this is used to excuse that brutality in court. Especially if the victim, panicking in the moment, lashed out at the dog. As this website has demonstrated many times, majority-white juries have more sympathies for injured dogs than the people of color who are most often victims of police brutality. So they’re not just systemic animal abuse, they’re also a tool for increased police brutality and to excuse
