The Justice League has movie nights and scheduling them is a mess but it’s a general rule that you have to show up to at least one every month
Surprisingly enough, Shazam is the hardest person to schedule around. Everyone thought it would be Batman but no, it’s Shazam who is surprisingly busy. He won’t tell them what he’s busy with.
Vic handles most of the scheduling for him because of this
Batman tries to make the bare minimum but no one will let him. Alfred is in on it and always makes certain his schedule is clear
Batman is also the person who hogs the remote
Since they all take turns choosing a movie similar to rotations for Monitor duty no one knows if it’ll be a good movie
They’re all positive that Shazam chooses his randomly and has never actually seen them himself
He does and would not deny it if anyone confronted him about it but no one has
Vic shows up to every movie night because he honestly has nothing better to do
movie night was mostly made to keep him company but they won’t admit it
Clark always chooses a farming documentary or the Wizard of Oz
Vic watches something else and Batman has some type of equipment in his cowl that lets him pick up the signal. Shazam picks up the signal with his magic
all of them pretend they aren’t cheating
none of them have been caught yet
Others that try to do something else always get caught.
Diana picks movies that she’s heard about or are commonly referenced
Shazam will sometimes pick his movie around that
Barry is always eating popcorn during the movie and will leave to make more. He’s gotten so good at it that he is never without popcorn for even a milisecond
Shazam is a popcorn thief. He is completely unapologetic about this. He has stolen popcorn from everyone who ever dared to eat popcorn during movie night.
yes, he did stretch completely over the couch to get to Hal’s bowl when Vic had one right next to him.
No, he won’t apologize for climbing over people and knocking over other foods to get to Hal’s bowl. Stop asking
Is torn between being proud of managing to steal some from Barry (there is literally only a split second opportunity) and when he managed to steal some from Batman.
The time with Wonder Woman doesn’t count because she put a sword to his neck. She apologized for that. He is still willing to steal from her
All of them stay away from horror movies.
The one time Diana had picked it unknowingly, Clark was a blubbering mess and Shazam was staring fixedly at the screen long enough that they worried he’d been possessed
He hadn’t been. Billy just likes horror films (his foster parents won’t let him watch)
Batman critiques them the entire time so it isn’t even enjoyable
Shazam sometimes does this too especially if it’s about a spirit because it isn’t realistic but he has the decency to not say it out loud.
Though the time he laughed did make them increasingly worried about him
Disney’s Hercules is banned from ever being watched again
Shazam had warned them and lords it over their heads
Diana hated how completely inaccurate was
Shazam told her that he agreed but the songs made it worth it
She didn’t think the songs were worth it but sat through the whole movie while complaining. Shazam was greatly amused
