standing ovation is such a good phrase. that show was so great we laid an egg
just saw a pigeon doing the puffed up courtship dance thing to another pigeon, and as he was strutting around he suddenly stopped for a split second to do a very brief preen-peck at his own side, then returned to the strutting around. and i surprised myself by instantly losing respect for the male pigeon in that moment, like come on man i appreciate you had an itch or whatever but how is she supposed to feel special when you're getting distracted by bullshit like that? which on reflection i don't endorse, i mean those are pretty harsh dating norms i'm imposing on these pigeons, from a total outsider perspective, for no reason. probably not all girl pigeons are as uptight about that sort of thing as i would apparently be if i was a girl pigeon, maybe she even found it endearing who knows, i don't know her. it's none of my business really. sorry pigeons.

i love this guy
so i'm fascinated by that one video that mashes up the silent hill soundtrack with the "eating a burger with no honey mustard" clip. i think it's a genuinely great musical experience
the vocal loop has a lot of rhythmic and melodic contour to it, and it holds your attention with its simplicity. the ambient chords underneath it are soft and smooth, like rushing waves. even though both parts loop at uneven times, they both have somewhat fluid time feels, so it's easy to let yourself float across the polyrythm they create together
it's actually super inspiring as a musician. looping a found vocal sample over ambient pads is a really neat idea with a lot of potential
i've had this video on loop for half an hour before without getting bored. and i don't think i'm the only one!
so i made a playlist with a few songs that remind me of this wonderful video. if you know any others, please share them with me, either by replying to this post or in my inbox :)
i’ve had these posts looping like this for hours

[doesn't understand jacking off] and I'm supposed to... touch my penis? [shaking my head and smiling, murmuring to myself] touching my own penis... [chuckles] what will they come up with next
Hello, tumblr! I saw something on here the other day that worried me, so I decided to Do Science about it. But I can't do it alone: I need your help to build the dataset!
Here's what I need you to do:
If you see a post with a "mature content" label, and it's 2026, DM me a link to the post.
Yes, that's really it.
I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.
If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.
