revisiting an album u didn’t like on first listen and seeing the error of ur ways
i know gender and sexuality arent exactly the same but “i could survive being with a man” is comphet. “i could survive living as a man” sounds much the same. you’re not meant to live in survival mode. it sounds like you do *need* to transition
That’s… fair
with 2+ years of hindsight (and almost 10 months of HRT), I want to thank this anon, because I think genuinely this played a significant role in helping me to start transitioning.
I've been so much happier since then, and especially since starting HRT. Yeah, there are new struggles and anxieties and problems to adapt to, but I'm also learning how to enjoy life and find myself and love myself, and it's definitely worth it.
Over the past year I've laughed and cried and been able to look at myself in the mirror and selfies and enjoy what I look like. I've felt more comfortable with my body, and worn outfits and accessories that I've been daydreaming about for over a decade. I've felt pretty, which was not something that I thought was possible.
If you're on the fence about transitioning, please know that it's enough to chase joy. If you think you'd be happier, that's enough. You don't have to have known since you were a toddler. You don't have to be so depressed that you can't bear another day as your AGAB. You don't have to "earn" or "deserve" to transition. It's enough to want it.
That’s the same guy what the actual fuck.
Whoa what the fuck.

when they think we’re mutilating ourselves to the point that they pose as SRS doctors and literally mutilate us for their agenda. cis ppl don’t forget this
topsurgery.net is a site with lots of before + after pics categorised by surgeon. I encourage everyone with other resources on srs surgeons and their results to share them here, for mtf/mtx surgeries too please
If you want a good resource for all types of trans surgeries, TransBucket is an invaluable resource. You have to make an account in order to view images, but it is free.

Meiji period fashion was some of the best in the world, speaking purely from an aesthetic standpoint you can really see the collision of European and Japanese standards of beauty and how their broad agreement even in particulars (the similarity between Japanese and Gibson girl bouffants, the obi vs the corset, the obi knot vs the bustle, the mutual covetousness for exotic textiles, the feverish swapping of both art styles and subjects) combined and produced some of the most interesting cultural exchange we have this level of documentation for. Europeans were wearing kimono or adapting them into tea gowns, japanese were pairing lacy Edwardian blouses with skirt hakama and little button up boots. haori jackets with bowler hats and European style lapels. if steampunk was any good as an aesthetic it would steal wholesale from the copious records we have in both graphic arts and photography of how people were dressing in this milieu.
«The botany professor,» from Kkokei Shimbun, October 20, 1908. she's wearing a kimono blouse or haori, edwardian skirt or hakama, gibson girl bouffant, a lacy high-collar blouse with cravat and brooch, and a pocket watch with chain
1910-1930 (Taishō era, right after Meiji, which I should have included in my OP) men's haori with western lapels
“What if I derp?”
Oh my child, but what if you me gusta?

Sometimes I just randomly remember the adult swim cartoon Teenage Euthanasia and how its ambiguous near-future setting understood the direction of american dystopia both more creatively and more dreadfully than all of Futurama or almost any other sci fi comedy I've seen.
Like, a parody jeff bezos governs a Florida that is now both a micronation and a corporate brand. All law enforcement are untrained, uneducated, lethally armed minors. Government propaganda encourages teen pregnancy and teaching jobs are implied to be unpaid prison labor. This 2 season, largely overlooked cartoon invented horrors that I hardly ever saw in the genre before and they all still felt just a few more bad elections away from reality.
All just as backdrop to a sitcom style show about a horny undead single mom.
