what is really getting to me is richie and bill's friendship specifically. they are the first two members of the losers' club to share a traumatic event where they quite literally save each other's lives in turn, which is very special, but even before this it's clear how close they are. everyone worships bill, and they all care for one another, but richie is the person who manages to take some of the weight off bill's shoulders when it has been crushing him. he is not afraid to look directly at bill's pain without flinching. he is the one to show him it's not his fault that georgie died, that he didn't cause it, that georgie didn't die thinking bill wanted him gone, that it's not on him if his parents cannot give him the affection and support he needs. everyone worships bill. but i think, after that conversation and the way richie came through for him, bill worships richie a little, too. idk i just love them girl
