๑ - The sudden reassuring words almost startle Kirie as she hears a more comforting response than she was ever expecting to what she had muttered out of instinct. Curling up in a tighter ball than he had found her in, she took care to press her hand against the wound at her side.
After the burns the lighthouse incident had given her, she hadn’t thought that a bullet could have hurt all that much more. Maybe it was because she felt especially alone and scared, but it hurt more than she could ever remember anything else hurting her before.
What was the point of having run away from her old home town if all that was to meet her in civilization again were criminals; trying to kill her for always picking the wrong abandoned buildings to take shelter in?
It took her a bit of time to manage to get her thoughts together again and answer what had been asked as best as she could “My…side.”
“Can you….help me?”
His hands were shaking slightly as he went to her side as quick as he could. Rin kneeled there, digits hesitant to touch her small frame – the dreadful feeling of uselessness kicking in. The yōkai's eyes scanned her until he found the source of the injury: a bullet wound. That was not something easy to deal with.
Running away was something he was familiar with; he's been running from his past&old village members for ages now, after all. But he never felt it on his skin – the violent wounds it could result in – he was never a victim.
When her weak voice finally appeared, it alarmed him; she was indeed asking for help. Other yōkais could've easily healed her, but he hadn't the ability. "Yes, I can." Rin didn't mean to lie to the human – maybe just comfort her until he figure out what he could actually do? First, check if the bullet was still inside. If it was, he could remove it and use his pyrokinesis powers to cauterise the wound. But... That'd feel excruciating for her, wouldn't it?
Maybe he could... Just give her basic aids and think of how to deal with the rest when she felt better. "You were shot, right? This– Ah... It might hurt a little." He had to check for the bullet, regardless.
