There will be a new attraction at the christmas market in Kassel, Germany: A 70 meter long ice slide will be installed at Treppenstraße, a pedestrian street consisting of steps.

This is the first slide of its kind, and it was constructed to match the topography of the street consisting of several flights of steps interspaced with level sections. Visitors will offered four kinds of seats with different undersides to allow for different speeds. Brave riders using the fastest seats will attain speeds of up to 40 km per hour, while the slower seats are designed for family use.
