a rude awakening ❀ |
For Orihime, it could be similar to crashing straight into a brick wall. This place may sap his power, but it doesn’t make him less sturdy. Instinctively seizing her shoulders, his scowl fades to genuine shock when meeting a familiar face. She had been working with Urahara the last time he saw her.
“You’re … Kurosaki’s woman–”
No time to remember her ties to his sworn enemy, something was coming towards them. His gaze averts to the silhouette of the disfigured creature shambling and growling as it steps out from the corner.
‘The hell is that?
Abruptly, he whips his palm up so a bright red sphere can light up the area as it manifests, shooting at bullet-quick speed. Even for a bala, it’s not nearly as strong as it should have been when it slams into the monster, blasting its head apart in a disappointing rain of chunks and blood splatter. It stinks like rot, and the last thing he sees is a milky eye staring up at him from the pavement. Then, finally, he returns his attention to the woman and drops his arms.
“How did you get here?”
Orihime flinched upon her shoulders being grasped so firmly. She held her breath and braced herself, not knowing what to expect next. The female had assumed whatever was chasing her from before had finally caught up to her. Slowly, she averted her gaze upward and to her surprise; blue hair, part of a hollow mask, and that voice. . .
“...A-Ah Grimmjow-san is that you?” Her sentence was barely audible, all the running from earlier had caused Inoue to lose her breath. Before Hime had time to say anything else, the espada quickly reacted to something that was behind her. Throwing up her arms to cover her ears, she turned to look at whatever he had just attacked. ...and she regretted it. - It was horrid and smelt awful. Inoue turned back to look at Grimmjow, giving him her full attention after he had questioned her arrival. Which, that was a good question - she was not very sure herself on how she got here. “I.. apologize, I wouldn’t know how to answer your question..” Orihime gripped onto the sleeves of her shirt nervously, disliking how helpless she felt at the moment. “All I can remember was being with Kurosaki-kun and Sado-kun... then a white light...” She paused, shaking her head a couple times.
“....I’d assume you don’t know how you ended up in this place also..?”
