being a “professional” writer doesn’t mean your works are inherently better than fanfics. I’ve read so many fics that are more professionally written than some published books.

whether or not a piece of writing is monetized has nothing to do with its quality.

maybe happy ending really is more than the romance though. it’s about chronic illness, isolation, ptsd, possibly sexual harassment, abandonment, autism, finding your purpose and personality beyond someone else, and so much more. it really is just a show about life, which isn’t that rare in musical theater but it’s told so beautifully in mhe. but most importantly it’s about jazz
