it is kinda wild that we've had several straight relationships depicted with some degree of depth in starkid over the last ten years-- all sorts of relationships from doomed to happy, hugs, kisses, love/breakup songs, etc-- but for canon queer relationships it's like... 20 seconds of Deb and Alice before they get gooped and die?

they're just completely marginalized. Even when queer characters exist, they don't get romantic plotlines the way so many straight characters do. And it's fine to say "well queer characters can exist outside of relationships!" But straight characters don't have to pick between being a lead and being in a relationship

In the last ten years we've had: Emma and Paul, Ted and Charlotte, Tom and Becky, Linda and Gerald, Tom and Jane, Lex and Ethan, Sam and Zoey, Duke and Holloway, Steph and Peter, Bob and Emily Cratchit, Jim and Della, Scrooge and Belle, there's probably more but those are just the ones that immediately come to mind
