i am going to freak out! and not in a way anyone finds endearing or relatable

GOD the desire to renounce my human brain is so fucking feverish sometimes. make me smart the way a border collie is smart. some dozen words, enough to impress, and good intuition. bravery. obedience.

reasons for tonight’s panic attack:

-end-of-vacation anxiety

-saw a reddit thread abt how literally any accrued suntan will assuredly lead to melanoma (see also: my momma’s back and arms, sunscreened well but thickly freckled)

-spent too much time thinking abt the dodo birds (who dwelt on an island where the absence of predators allowed them to thrive entirely without fear; and who, therefore, did not know to flee when humans began to exterminate them by the thousands for the simple crime of being ugly and unafraid; and whose very name is now synonymous w stupidity which was only ever, in reality, true and complete innocence)
