@urban-vvitch
sorry about the hiatus everyone starting sixth form has been crazy but I'm hoping to post more soon now things are a bit less hectic
stay witchy!
He needs a name!
For anyone wondering I’m on holiday in France I haven’t moved to the woods, tho god I wish I had
I’ve reached aesthetic, living in the woods making Blair Witch dolls
Me, a baby witch, just starting to practice: I have no clue what I’m doing
Me now, having practiced for almost 2 years and having refined my craft to what I want it to be: I still have no clue what I’m doing but I have a bunch of candles and a tarot deck
☽ I don’t usually post actual spell bottles but I thought I might as well post this as it is a highly revised version of one from a grimoire page I posted a few months back. That one was just way to complicated! Sometimes I just go ham when I’m thinking up a spell and it’s not actually practical. I’ve also got to remember that putting a sigil in a spell bottle takes up a lot of room!
.・ ✧ Witch Box Tour ✧ ・.
The box:
So heres the box! with my grimoire on top. You can just see a bottle of pink salt next to it
First level:
Second level:
Most stuff is self explanatory but
alter cloth, because I'm in the broom closet my alter is just a mantle piece covered in skulls and candles but i have a shoe box that i put the cloth on and that serves as my working alter when I'm actually doing spell work.
penknife (not an athame), you don't know how much your going to need to cut things! i use nutmeg that needs to be grated (easier that filling up bottle) so it comes in handy for that as well as other things
sage
thyme
black salt, running out because I made this batch but I've bought some now thats properly black and made with charcoal.
Theres also more candles and empty bottles under the top shelves
cinnamon
Himalayan pink salt
amethyst, the chips I have are taken from an old bracelet, so yes they have holes through them, I have heard thats bad but I don't particularly subscribe to the idea of crystals as having healing properties (more as a magnifier of power) so the fact they have holes in them doesn't matter to me. Obviously you might disagree but we all practice differently thats what makes witchcraft such an interesting community :)
Moon water (that I mostly just use to water my plants)
I hope people found this interesting! bare in mind this is a collection thats taken a long time to acquire and I'm very lucky that I had a lot of stuff already.
I also have a huge shoe box filled with stuff, and my alter, and a shelf dedicated to my craft (as well as some hanging herbs) so don't worry if you cant fit everything into a tiny box!
I got a lovely message about my grimoire pages (wasn't sure if I could post it publicly) so more of those coming soon!
In the mean time are people interested in a post about my “witchy supplies box” or my alter set up? I did a post a while ago but everything changed so I thought id do an update?
Witch tip
don't leave your candles anywhere with direct sunlight, or they end up like this
This post is probably going to get flagged as inappropriate but oh well
・☾Paranormal experience asks・
send me your paranormal experiences! I’ll post if you tell me to, I’ll probably be up all of tonight :)
Witch tip
To grow mint you can cut off a sprig of mint (like the one in the pic) and stick it in some water, it will grow roots and you can plant it!
I have like four mint plants on my windowsill that all came from one sprig, this new one is about to join them!
Hylas and the Nymphs - John William Waterhouse (1896)
alright gang, lil announcement
So, I’ve decided that I’m no longer going to be a part of the witchblr community on this site. I’m still a practicing witch, but I feel that this community is having a detrimental effect on my attitudes to witchcraft in the sense that my self-worth as a witch is deteriorating because I do not possess an overwhelming amount of crystals, materials and other things that this site perpetuates as necessary in order to meet the set standard. Obviously, lots of my mutuals on here are lovely and I’m not unfollowing anyone, but honestly witchblr was something I became involved with because it was helpful whilst I was becoming familiar with aspects of witchcraft such as the wheel of the year and the associations of herbs and crystals. People who followed me for this reason are 100% welcome to unfollow if they please bc my posts have become increasingly less related to my craft and they will most likely cease entirely after this point. No hate to anyone involved in witchblr because it’s still a fairly wholesome community, it just wasn’t very healthy for me to continue with it personally.
Thanks for being great while I was a part of this community!
This is why our community needs to change, people are being made to feel that there are so many expectations of them. Witchblr should be an expression of our identities, spirituality and, just simply: the craft. But so much of our community has become gatekeeping and fear-mongering that makes those who practice feel like their doing everything wrong. Wether they don’t have the right supplies, or they’re beliefs differ from what is presented to them.
I hope my blog can show people that your way of practicing witchcraft, is valid. No matter your materials or beliefs. This is such a diverse and creative community and I hope that we sort ourselves out before more and more people leave.
I’m so sorry we failed you
my exams just ended and I've been dismantling this so I couldn't post the jar but heres the page from my grimoire ⇞ ☾
*:・゚✧* very messy grimoire pages *: ✧
Just finished my exams
I feel such a sense of peace and acceptance of myself and my life. I’m possibly the most imperfect person to exist yet I just know that I’ll be okay in the future as long as I treat others and myself well. I really do love life like I never have before and I’m so proud of everything that has led me to this point- I may be imperfect but that doesn’t mean I’m irreparably flawed, everything and everyone can change in an instant and that’s how it’s been all my life, I only just realised it now. I have so much hope for humanity and the world and everyone in it, despite all the awful and disgusting things happening we are a beautiful and kind race deep down and we will find more peace soon. I love you all and I hope you’re all doing well, hopefully I’ll be posting more soon since I have more spare time.
Catch you all later and may love and light guide you 💛🌿
I just finished my exam! So glad I can get back to posting regularly again. Good luck for results @nymphylights
Being into witchcraft but not into astrology really fucks your up on here huh
modern witches:
we somehow found our love for the occult and decided we wanted to dive in head first, and then didn’t realize where to start
“is this a good one?” we say as we skim through the tiny metaphysical section at our local bookstore, and walk out with a mishmash of titles from various authors, all with conflicting opinions
we jot down notes in old school notebooks because that leather grimoire we found online was too expensive
we ditched the books we read over and over again and turned to the internet, hungry for hidden knowledge
we all stumbled upon spellsofmagic.com and tried to do the unthinkable before realizing that it wasn’t working and got discouraged
we realized that *gasp* you can write your own spells, but how?
we spent hours compiling correspondences for every herb and spice in our kitchen pantry, and dug through boxes to find our old crystal or seashell collection from when we were kids thinking “i could probably use these for… something”
we spent too much money on candles and incense before realizing we could get them cheaper online
we practiced drawing sigils and symbols to make them perfect before crumpling up the paper and starting all over
we learned to go outside and look at the moon to see what phase it was in and how we could possibly use that to our advantage
“what cardinal direction was for fire again? south?” we went back to the drawing board, digging through our notes to find the section in which we wrote down the information before giving up and doing a quick google search instead
we set up wiccan altars because we didn’t know that there was anything else out there at first
we learned about intent, and made sure that we were careful to stir our tea or coffee in one direction or the other to set the mood for the day
we would squint at bottles of body wash in the shower to find the ingredients and quickly figure out how to use them for magick: “jasmine and lavender? i think that’s good for peace or something”
we say little incantations when we cook dinner, or pour food for our pets - “bunny, you are happy and healthy. enjoy!”
every witch has gone through their own version of uncertainty and unknowing when they first started practicing. everyone’s path is different, and the situations leading up to our current state, made us the witches we are today. your path is yours, and yours alone. don’t let anyone take that from you.
