Welcome aboard the USS Menippe!

Started by two artists and friends turned partners, this blog features logs detailing the story of a Starfleet science research vessel commissioned roughly between 2381- 2391, captained by Ekett Loq.

It’s a Star Trek fan work (not official- please Paramount we’re just having fun don’t come for us lol) of our Trek OCs and the little world we decided to build for them when the doodles and brainblasts grew to be far bigger than what our heads could hold. 

We’ll be running the blog tag-team style, and will be sharing mostly art and writing. We may also share other folk’s Trek OC’s and stories, so if you want to find our work more streamlined, you can use #USS Menippe in the search or sidebar.

Also before we depart, so our fellow trekkies can know where we’re coming from: we’ve seen all of TOS and TNG (all films included + Kelvin timeline) Lower Decks, and are currently working our way through TAS and DS9, with Enterprise and VOY on deck! One out of the two of us has also seen Picard and is working their way through DISCO. Also on the wishlist is The Orville, and all fan productions (did watch prelude to Axanar and holy shit that production quality was niiiiiiiice).  Will be updating this as we move along lol.

Introduction to me & this blog!

Hello!

I’m Autisitctrekky, and as the name implies, I am an autistic Star Trek artist. I also have fibromyalgia and other physical disabilities, which influence my art.

Here, I’ll post my Star Trek OCs along with their lore/backstories and time aboard the USS Curiosity!

A quick rundown of the Curiosity:

The Curiosity story is set 20-25 years post DS9. Starfleet is considering loosening their qualifications when it comes to which cadets get accepted into Starfleet Academy and get assigned to starships. They refitted the Curiosity as a trial run and staffed it with the cadets who wouldn’t have made the cut otherwise, but kept that part classified.

The story overall is about disability within Starfleet, especially disabilities that aren’t easily accommodated, or that do hold the crew members back.

Welcome to Star Trek: Prism, a fan project started by @TheFoodWiththeDood(Wyatt) and EzzieboBezzie(Ezra)!

Prism is the story about one of Starfleet’s most controversial ship; a mostly non-human crew featuring a half-Klingon captain, a Trill first officer, and a half-Romulan Chief of Ops. More importantly, Prism is a story about how diversity strengthens community and how friendship makes any hard task bearable. On the USS Prism there is no one who is considered out of place, and it’s a home to the misfits and weirdos that can’t quite find their place anywhere else. The Prism’s story takes place between the years 2369-2375, and takes us from the height of Federation exploration into the Dominion War. So far we’ve written down episode concepts for ~six seasons and a movie, so this is… a beefy project.

The main characters are:

Captain Apollo(Ezra’s)

Lt. Cmdr. Vona Vaas(Wyatt’s)

Lt. Cmdr. Jonah Elliot(Ezra’s)

But we have so many more characters, like an angry Bajoran orphan, a newly discovered friend from the Gamma Quadrant, a former Bajoran assassin, the most annoying Andorian you’ve ever met, a Betazoid wrapped up in some shady business and a reformed Borg just to name a few!

Ezra posts the most because Wyatt has a real, epic and awesome animation job while Ezra focuses on getting ready to sell commissions(therefore posting a lot art). You can find both Ezra and Wyatt’s posts under #prism ezra or #prism wyatt.

HELLO 👀

I got a pair of twins for you lmao This is Sidak (he/him) and Haadok (they/them)

[35 yrs, ~193cm, Virgos, Autistic]

Sidak [left] is the CMO of a scientific research vessel. He's very forthright and stonefaced (typical Vulcan exterior), but he loves music, takes the care of his team to heart, and is hyper-protective of those he holds dear.

Haadok [right] is a science officer on the same ship, who specializes in agricultural and food sciences. They are quite the opposite of their twin in the sense that they are free-flowing and don't care to adhere to Vulcan emotional control standards. They're soft spoken, expressive, and very sensitive/shy. I like to think they were chronically online as a kid, so they're also very abreast of current pop culture references and are keen to accidentally making friends without realizing it.
