Confessions of a Cashier
I actually don’t care how you are or how your day is
you freaking better have found everything you were looking for
i don’t know how nice the weather is today, but please, tell me all about it while i’m stuck behind this stupid register all day
no i don’t know what the club/reward/special card does. does anyone?
i’m smiling but i actually kind of want you to drop dead
how am i doing? oh, fine, i love standing in one spot doing the same thing and having the same conversation all day
“please don’t yell at me, please don’t yell at me, please don’t yell at me” –me whenever i might have made the slightest mistake
“please go away, please go away” –me when the customer just wants to chat and is holding up the line and making other customers angry
i don’t know if you noticed, but i’m a cashier, not a miracle worker
look, it’s not my fault you didn’t read the fine print on the coupon
my job is just a bit more important to me than your disagreement with a store policy i have to follow
i’m double bagging it so it doesn’t break and make and mess for you and bring you back here to yell at me. be PATIENT it doesn’t take that long and i’m doing it to HELP you
cool fact: i’m a HUMAN BEING not an automated checkout machine, so there might be mistakes. sorry not sorry
yes, i see what/how much you’re buying. and yes, i am judging you
i say sorry but i’m probably cackling on the inside
