As for the last update for this edition, well…
Checks and Balances; updates to the Playbook moves, to keep things a little bit more balanced.
Some of our Playbooks needed an upgrade, since some moves were more advantageous than others, and we only realised this as we played through some of them. They still are not perfectly balanced, so if any of you have any feedback/concerns, please shoot them our way!
The integration of mechanics - locations and monsters, all in one handbook!
Previously, we had the location-making guide in the optional pre-built module we had released (which we are also in the process of updating!). We realised that the tool, while not wholly necessary, would be important to have with the main rules.
The Enemies were initially in the Wonderland expansion, because we wanted to set the game in a more “realistic” dystopia; so we didn’t want to bring Sopro and the Mist into the main game. But because these two are canon to the diaries, we decided to include them this time!
Removal of mechanics: Conditions & Highlighted Skills
Through our home game, we realised that while both Conditions and the Highlighted Skills were interesting on paper, they just didn't come up enough to keep them in, so we’ve removed them entirely. But if you liked them, continue to keep them for your games!
