high school boys and mutant sludge || hidenori & narumi
The acrid smell of every waste known to humans hits his nose so suddenly, he can't help but gag. After a moment of disgust, one that lasted maybe two seconds, he turns to run back onto the train that brought him here. At least, he thinks a train brought him here; he's about 99% sure a train brought him here. So, why then, when he turned around, the train was already a mile down the track, disappearing into the smog of the surroundings.
He almost falls to the ground in despair, but the ground below him is less than optimal (what's moving underneath that sludge?) for falling. The smart choice would be to wait at the station, if this is an actual station, and wait for another train. However, Hidenori never prided himself in his smart decisions. Plus, he thinks that whatever is moving in this mess is moving towards him, and he's not ready to take on a sludge monster without at least a baseball bat and maybe a team of three other people.
Slowly, being careful not to trip or step on something mutated, he walks deeper into area. He walks deeper and deeper, probably making progress with his slow gait, but most likely not, until he's coughing and wheezing and tears emerge from the corner of his eyes.
And then he feels something latch onto his foot. It's the same goddamn pile of sludge from the station. He tries to escape by hopping on one foot, but he just ends up hopping into a person.
"I-I need a hero," he says, pointing to his trapped foot, "Please free me from this nightmare and get me to a doctor because I'm about 70% sure I'm going to die from this dream. That can't be healthy."
