What makes so A so appealing as a Wildbow protagonist is that we are viewing her story second-hand.

All the typical Wildbow tropes of the characters being messed up, suffering from ptsd, and barely functional human beings that make crazy ass decisions?

Now we get to see it from the perspective of the outside looking in.

Basil as her Watson, the constant companion who knows A but doesn’t understand her.

Winnie the Admirer, who would see all these grand moments and deify A for them.

Orion the Explorer, trying to put the pieces together what and who A was or is, and her influence on his life in the future.
