Uxample is taking a break

Hi there,

I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about changing the direction of Uxample.

I'm having fun publishing contents, but I feel that the range of ideas is too broad, and that makes contents not actionable enough.

So, until I decide the new path, I won't be publishing new design ideas.

If you have any idea about how the blog could improve, I would love to know your thoughts :)

When loggin in to Fiverr, the site shows you a modal presenting the main two types of services you can find in the platform. This way, you can quickly remove from your search results tons of providers that are not relevant.

DeviantArt website makes it completely obvious when a user has clicked on a link that will make her leave DevianArt.

A bit intrusive for people that do wanted to leave, but also a simple way to keep users on the site if they didn't know that the link was pointing towards an external website.

Useronboard is a blog that analyzes user onboarding flows used in different apps. The blog uses a "slideshare like" format to present the case studies.

Only when you get to the final slide, which means that you have been interested in the content, the site asks you to subscribe to the blog.

When starting to use Twoodo, you can follow a quick tutorial that teaches you the basics of the application. In order to incentivize users to complete the tutorial, Twoodo uses a progress bar with a % of completion indicator.

Webflow uses a modal to inform users about new features added since the last time they logged in. Since this is clearly relevant info, it makes sense to use a modal, even if it interrupts the user for a few seconds.

After signing in, Zapier asks users about their profesional profile. That way, Zapier can make much more relevant email recommendations about how to use the service.

Diet Coda is an app that let's you code on an iPad. In order to make it easier for visitors to understand how does it work, they've implemented a simulated version of the product that you can try right on your browser.

When unsubscribing from one of the emails lists of Creative Market, the site proactively reminds you about the other lists that you're still subscribed. Honesty beats hiding information, even if because of this you loose a subscriber.
