Uzkost “Blood Debt” music video
Úzkost is a genre-blending nightmare from Pittsburgh, Pa that formed in 2010 under the name Slaves BC. With a slew of releases under their belt, the band spent the decade spiraling further into darkness with every new offering. In 2020, the band has evolved their sound from what was once chaotic hardcore into a horrific and disorienting conglomeration of black metal, death metal, doom metal, and harsh noise. After a decade of shows, line-up changes, and musical exploration, Úzkost is poised to release their darkest material yet. "Blood Debt" is the first single under the new band name, and the members of Úzkost wanted to make it absolutely clear where they stand in regards to current events in the United States. The band worked with Pittsburgh based horror film crew Broken Clock Entertainment to make Úzkost's first real music video. The music video will premiere Thursday, 8/20/20 at 8pm ET. The band will be watching the video and responding to comments live during the premiere. Band Crush Wednesday
One of the things I’d like to accomplish with this blog is to expose people to bands I enjoy that they may not have heard before. So, for the first installment of Band Crush Wednesday, I’m going to post about the band that coined the title on Twitter, Slaves BC. Forming in 2010,the Pittsburgh, PA, band plays a form of doomy blackened hardcore that is reminiscent of Converge and Lord Mantis with a tinge of High On Fire’s sludgier parts. After a handful of splits and 7 inches, the band is set to release their first full length this autumn.
