In New Zealand each city has their own pride month celebration, and each February is Auckland's turn. Auckland is the city has the largest population in NZ hence the celebration is huge in comparison.
The celebration has turn sour after some violent incidents and the protest against the Destiny Church / Man Up group (in local library and pride parade). Their leader Brian Tamaki is the New Zealand version of Trump, but the worse thing is he is hiding under the disguise of a "Church Leader". Therefore, his words have been poison and slowly seep into families and especially young kids grow up in that environment.
I am glad that our Rainbow whanau was defiant and stand against these bullies, and still put on an amazing parade. Please don't be disheartened by a bunch of people how are not educated enough to understand how beautiful you all are as individuals and as human beings.
