Nicolasa Quintreman was a brave pehuenche woman, who in 2013 resisted the construction of the dam in Alto Bio Bio, that same year she “drowned in mysterious circumstances”.
Also in 2013 sindical leader Juan Pablo Jimenez is killed by a “stray bullet”, to this day without anyone held responsible for his death.
In 2016 Macarena “la Negra” Valdes “kills herself”, she was a leader in the struggle against the construction of a dam in the mountainous area of Valdivia, facing multinational companies RP-Global and Sansa.
In 2018, young fisher and social leader Alejandro Castro also “killed himself”, he was leading the protests against pollution in Quintero and Puchuncavi, facing the government and local companies.
We have to pay attention and be ready, because in Chile selective murders of social leaders have started again.

Witkin’s work reveals the things that society did not want to show. People with physical deformities or with jobs deemed inappropriate, such as prostitution, became mainstays of his art. A Vietnam War photographer from 1960 to 1964, Witkin had experienced death first-hand, and began portraying corpses in his art in the 1980s. He wanted to show death as a natural part of life, a process that is inevitable and unexplainable.
The photograph portrays two heads that are actually one. Severed in two and awaiting an autopsy, the head was arranged photographically by the artist to portray a kiss.

Silly Skeleton is here to tell you that some times it’s good to remember that no one really cares - no one cares if you tripped over, or told that bad joke, it’s ok.

Cis, liberal parents who still participate in things like gender reveal parties, pink and blue color coding, and the gendering of various games, toys and children’s activities but then try to sound like their accepting of trans people by saying things like “Well, we think he’s a boy right now, but it’s okay if that changes later” are still contributing to the enforcement of binarism, cisnormativity, and strict gender roles that harm trans and nonbinary people and if they were actually trying to create a safe and accepting environment for a child that might be trans they would practice gender-neutral parenting until said child was ready to figure out their gender identity on their own.

if you ask a right winger why a job like, say, sanitation worker has such an abysmal wage even though their job is necessary they’ll tell you that it is an unskilled occupation. we could contest that but for the sake of argument let’s concede.
by this logic, value is derived by how much labor is required to accomplish something, in this case the labor of learning the skill in addition to the labor of completing the task at hand. a doctor would earn a much higher wage because of the labor required to earn the necessary degrees to practice. okay.
but then if you ask a right winger why the price of a pair of glasses, a mattress, or even a bottle of water is so expensive, despite these things being cheap and easy to make, they’ll tell you that value is not determined by the labor that goes into it, but by need and demand.
this inconsistency reveals how neoliberal economics functions: the value of something means whatever is most convenient to the ruling class.
Not to defend capitalism, lol, but one might say that its not just demand but supply and demand. While there is a great demand for sanitation workers, theres also a great supply, due to it being unskilled work - any potential wage laborer can become one. Theres a great demand for doctors but much fewer in supply, due to the amount of education necessary to become one. The price of mattresses will fluctuate in relation to how many mattresses are being produced.
We dont even need to say this is wrong necessarily (although it may be), it already sort of suggests an anticapitalist sentiment: the raising of prices as high, and the lowering of wages as low, as the capitalist can get away with, is nakedly exploitative.
