i think the ghost x price confrontation is a lie (i mean the specific scene from the teaser).
hear me out.
trailers always lie. i think that's a truth everyone into movies/tv shows/video games has universally acknowledged. so far, we've only seen a teaser of the game. it is meant to draw hype.
so, price has been established in the previous games to be extremely loyal to those he holds close. he's loyal to the 141. he's loyal to kate and farah. who else? idk. but he's loyal to them specifically. and sure, his arc in this game is him facing the consequences of his actions in mw3 and following a timeline of reckless and dangerous acts that's been established since the first game. but i think when push comes to shove, price won't harm ghost or gaz. i don't think he has that in him, and not because he doesn't have the capacity -- he's more than capable of taking on simon or kyle in a fistfight, and in the trailer we see him beating someone to death -- but because he doesn't have the willingness to harm his former teammates, the ones he led and bled with, especially after soap's death, which really threw him off the deep end.
so what happens with ghost? from the patch in his arm we can interpret that he's joined the SAS again, and maybe he's been tasked, along with other operators, in hunting him down. that "you broke a lot of rules, price" line sounds more reluctant than not. maybe simon's conflicted about the whole thing. maybe he's just doing as told. maybe there's something deeper going on. we can't know.
my theory is that, while ghost + the sas are definitely hunting price down to make him answer for his war crimes (he did kill an american general, after all), ghost and price will eventually team up. whether simon leaves the sas or not is unclear. i also think gaz, whom we still haven't seen or heard, has a lot more to do in this storyline. he's literally price's protegé. this moral conflict between doing what's right, whatever the means, and following the rules has been his storyline since mw1 ("we get dirty and the world stays clean").
the scene we see on the trailer, plus the audio snippets (you broke the rules/no more rules) belong to different moments entirely. maybe simon says that line the moment they capture price after beating that person to death. i don't know. i might be grasping at straws here. but i do think the ghost/price confrontation is a lot deeper and not what we've seen in 5 seconds of a teaser. time will tell.

so mw4's coming i guess
oh i'm eating his pussy for sure
his cookie ain't safe either
i feel ill every time i scroll upon a post or open a comment section because i can't dump my theories and opinions about mw4 to everybody ever. i'm gonna throw up my hopes for this game are higher than they should be but i've adored outlaw price for so long.
my thoughts and theories on modern warfare 4
information has been indirectly provided by the Infinity Ward team. do not take all of these as facts. this is all stuff i've gathered through youtube videos, a couple of articles, and my own head.
unnecessary note: i've seen people who don't even know why price is on the run to begin with and genuinely think the creators have lost the theme entirely. like did we play/watch the same game? price literally kills general shepherd at the end of modern warfare 3. did we think he could just get away with shooting a general in his office and leaving his very own fingerprints behind?
---☆---
- first off, none of this is happening solely because of soap's death. that was the final straw that led to price killing shepherd, who betrayed the 141 TWICE and tried directly killing them. no, they would not spend all that time sulking over the sergeant. they've most definitely faced very similar situations and lost peers of greater or less value to them. yes, they can get upset, but they are soldiers. they are not ones to brood or act irrationally over soap ffs. shepherd's betrayal was simply a brick in a tower that caused the entire thing to topple over, subsequently leading to the murder of price's own man. price planned this out, knew the consequences, yet chose to do what must be done for the great or good. he believes he has the right to strike back when someone hurts what belongs to him.
oh i'm eating his pussy for sure
