i love pleasantly unpleasant sensory experiences. getting tattooed. eating a too-big dollop of wasabi and feeling like i've been kicked in the face. being outside when it is very very cold and a little kiss of frigid air slipping between my glove and coat sleeve. people say building discomfort tolerance is important because discomfort is an inevitable part of life, and that's true, but discomfort can also be a source of joy and part of what makes life worth living.

ive been so sick of these intergalactic, universe-ending threat type superhero movies that spiderman: brand new day, superman, supergirl, and even the batman are genuinely sweeping breaths of fresh air for me. bringing back the "[superhero] is [superhero]" formatted media is so nice bc after years and years of mcu films just absolutely inundating the superhero film market i love sitting down and just watching a movie about a Guy Overcoming His Hardships (rather than trying to save the known universe)
