the desire to be loved and the desire to be known are overwhelming today
very rough everturner doodle for the total of three people who enjoy this ship. Yes that is Victor in the background being jealous as always. Over whom you may ask? The answer is Yes
the concept of victor vale as the unwilling saint, the hero, the “christus victor” after declaring himself the villain and eli cardale having to watch it after everything he did
imagine if instead of kpop it was rpop and it's from russia and you had girls all over Twitter being like "stream Я какала в штаны" and posting pictures like this and being like "OMG Ivonovativich looks so CUTE"
noah centineo as roman kitt is just around the corner what if I end myself
college is like. i am the stupidest person in the world. i am a god. i am universally loved. these people only tolerate me because they live with me. everyone in this library desires me carnally. i am repulsive. i am myself. i am as far from myself as i have ever been. i am an adult and i have never left the womb.
the "I'm not a drinker myself" to gradually becoming an alcoholic to numb out the pain pipeline
the "I don't want them to change me. turn me into something I'm not" to being turned into a mutt version of himself pipeline
the "I do everything in my power to protect my sister" to losing her anyway pipeline
I've seen so many posts about how Coriolanus is cold and calculating and a user first and foremost but like. y'all are forgetting that he genuinely cared about people. He loved his family fiercely, he had a best friend in school (Festus) and even seemed worried about him because of what Nero Price had done during the war to feed his family (the line, "Did you tell your best friend his crush was a cannibal?")
We see other instances of his compassion throughout, too. Even if you discount everything he ever did to protect Lucy Gray, even if you boil his affection for her down to infatuation and obsession, he cared about other people.
he had the capacity for kindness (shown many times with Lysistrata), for guilt (for Clemensia's encounter with the snakes and for how he ignored her after), for genuine sympathy (he nearly cried for Festus when his tribute died and he left the dais), for regret (over turning Sejanus in), for grief (Arachne, the Ring twins, Gaius, Sejanus—to an extent, we even witness the grief he still feels for his mother's death).
The entire book of tbosas is a constant example of his anxiety, as well.
Yes Coriolanus turns out evil in the end, but discounting his capacity for humanity and genuine warmth will only serve to make us forget that his tale is one of choice.
this was not predestined.
he wasn't born a monster; he was molded into something bitter, and tired, and scared, and shaped himself into something monstrous after. his descent was not a steady decline; it was full of moments where he nearly turned himself around! it was his feeling of obligation to his family's legacy that kept him on a dark, easy path.
Lucy Gray believed they were written in the stars, and the book comments that Coriolanus didn't truly believe in mysticism or destiny or anything like that.
Because Coriolanus made every possible choice he could to delay the inevitable: his own disgrace. He valued his image more than his morals, which is what eventually led to his first downfall and eventually his death. remember what Tigris said? about having to choose between those?
Well, Coriolanus did have a tendency toward greed.
It’s kind of insane that Katniss and Peeta chose to spend nights together on the Victory Tour considering that their day activities involved being shoved in each others faces all day.
Even people who are in romantic relationships could possibly be sick of touching and spending all their time with someone. They would need a break. Let alone Katniss and Peeta who just started being friends and are anxious.
But what do both of them think of as bright spots to the tour? Choosing to spend the nights together, and it’s not even the comfort of having someone in the same room. They’re taking that time to be close enough that Katniss has a spot on Peeta’s chest for her head.
The argument that Katniss and Peeta were forced together really holds no water when they take opportunities to be super close where they would be right to want some distance. Their friendship and love was a choice they made over and over, not something forced on them.
And what is so beautiful is that these moments come without expectation of anything more than simple friendship, than comfort. Just knowing someone is there, breathing with you, holding you, someone you trust to protect you, and not to ask anything of you … wow.

Gale: im going to keep busy building war weapons to give her time to miss me
Katniss: *fantasizing about offing herself now that she can’t hang with Peeta*
I don’t know about you all, but I’m so curious about otho mellark. he was deemed unimportant. he liked asterid march, but she was in love with burdock everdeen, and he understood why and resigned himself to it. did he know she sank into depression after burdock’s death? how did he feel learning his youngest son took a beating to give her child a piece of bread that would save their family?
most importantly, what led him to marry that woman — a woman so unworthy of memory she remains nameless? was it forced upon him, or did he think he could never get anything better? did he regret it? did he think he was weak and useless and cowardly for not standing up against her abuse?
based on what we have in the books he likely didn’t stand up for his children; and although peeta apparently has a much more bearable relationship with his father than he does with his mother, he’s stated no one in his family would truly need him. so he and otho aren’t that close. but we know peeta’s self deprecating nature is likely a product of the physical and psychological abuse he had to face since his childhood. was it a similar case with his father as well? was he deemed useless since the beginning? had everyone in his life always underestimated him?
i love how suzanne just gives us a little treat by mentioning the katniss plant every book. like here u go. ik u miss our girl. she's fine. enjoy lowercase katniss

I sincerely hope lionsgate is contacting hozier for an original song in the sunrise on the reaping adaptation next year. the cathartic experience it would be to have the first song from the credits one he has written and dedicated to haymitch and lenore dove’s love is unimaginable
a few chapters into sunrise on the reaping and the conclusion I’m coming to is that while katniss keeps *a lot* to herself, 16 year-old haymitch was a chronic oversharer. he dropped in ONE chapter more of the entire district’s lore than she did in 3 books
Lockland-era Victor’s fingers being stained black by sharpie, giving the visual effect of gangrene—him rotting from the inside out way before the end of his life even begins
I'm a simple bitch. i believe the purpose of government should be to improve the lives of its citizens and protect its most vulnerable members. unfortunately i live in a day and age where this gets me labeled an enemy of the state
