Former roommate has found a solution. It found a place for $800/month.

I've gotten my mid-monthly reparations from my dad (for having previously disowned me, it's a long story), so I should be fine for now. That said, my job doesn't pay me over the summer (yay for academia!), so if anyone wants to help out to make sure I stay above water in a few months, that is very much appreciated.
