"The hero is neither wicked nor virtuous, but somewhere in between." - I forgot who said this, some Roman poet or Greek philosopher or someone like that (if you know please let me know), but I just thought it was so amazing and true. It means that no hero does anything that doesn't offer them something in return. It's weird but it is kinda true when you think about it. At least when applied to most Classic Literature works.
Never make the mistake of sending your sibling a picture of yourself when you're high on anesthesia. The blackmail is REAL
I'd really like to have an old fashioned 20th century typewriter. It'll be so much fun writing letters and school essays on it
One of the many reasons I love My Chemical Romance is because you can hear the meaning of the song in Gerard's voice, and not only in the lyrics alone. If it's a sad song, his voice is so raw and vulnerable. If it is crazy, his voice is wild. If it is angry, his voice is perfectly fitting. He's not just singing lyrics with a "dead voice". It really makes all of their songs beautiful and unique in their own way.
Taking pictures your kids is like saying "you're only going to get uglier and less innocent from here on out, so we have to resort to photography to preserve a version of yourself that will never exist anymore for all eternity"
You know when you read a book and you want to cry but you knew all along that it was going to end that way but you still want to cry because how could the author do such a thing like that
Me jumping to conclusions:
Am I the only one who actually DOESN'T really like Wattpad? I have my reasons why I don't like it, but like... still...
Okay, so ⚠️⚠️⚠️ SPOILERS for The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare // read at your own risk
-----------------------------------------------------------------So I finished TID today and I legit want to C R Y ;-;
In the Clockwork Princess I knew that Jem really didn't die bc I, for one, read TMI first and two, I had ignorantly read Ghosts Of The Shadow Market before I even read TMI. So I knew that all along Jem was okay. But the way it was written--the reactions from Will and Tessa--bro I wanted to freaking sob.
It was sad that he died for Tessa bc, well duh, they were engaged. But what really made me sad was Will's reaction to when he thought Jem had died. Like I know Tessa was Jem's fiance, but she still had a romantic interest with Will. Plus, she knew by then that she was immortal and when she figured out that Jem had joined the Silent Brothers and that he was immortal too, she really didn't lose him. Sure, she'd have to wait a while, but he was still there.
For Will, he lost his Parabatai and he can't just turn to another and--for lack of better term--"replace" him (yeah, ik Tessa didn't replace Jem, but I can't think of a better word atm). He will live his life and die without ever having Jem as Brother Zachariah, whereas Tessa eventually gets him back as Jem.
I just find that idea so saddening bc of how well Jem and Will had gotten along. How used to each other they were. When I read the part where Will would turn to speak to someone who wasn't there *Jem* but then realize that Jem was gone and then just remain silent--thats when I was big big sad. Now ik this next thing I say might be a little provoking--and I don't intend for it to be so, it's just my opinion--but Jem and Will's Parabatai relationship makes Alec and Jace's look kinda laggy.
Alec and Jace are just like "Oh, my Parabatai. Wassup bro, everyone show respect to my boi over here. Don't mess with him." Whereas Jem and Will are "DON'T HURT MY PARABATAI OR I'LL DESTROY YOUR VERY EXISTENCE I SWEAR THAT'S MY LITTLE BABY OVER THERE HE'S AN IDIOT BUT HE IS M Y I D I O T!!!"
I didn't know how else to word it lol
But anyhow, I was just so devastated by the response of Jem's departure. I won't get sad about someone leaving or dying in a book, I get sad about the reactions of the people who cared for them. Yes, Tessa's response made me very sad. But Will's response literally wrecked my mental state.
So if you read this far, thanks. I really didn't expect you too lol, I just needed to rant.

Any tips for someone who is scared to death of public speaking and has to do a presentation where 5 points are taken off every time said person says "um" or stutters, and 30 taken off if you talk for even a second above or below the given time frame? 🙃🙃
❌ I have friends!
❌ I don't have friends 😥
❌ I only have 1 or 2 really good friends
✅ I have a decent amount of friends but I'm nobody's "BFF" and am pretty much the person that people talk to when they don't have anyone else to go to. The "last choice", the "good friend", the "background character"
Things I reccomend to incoming freshman for high school (I'm a junior so I'd say that I'm a pretty reliable source)
- Avoid taking 2 foreign languages at once. It's hard enough to learn just one new language by itself. Ofc, this may not apply to everyone. Some of yall may be great at it. But first wait and see how well you are at taking just 1.
- Don't stress about credits. The system is designed for you to get what you need by the time you're graduating as a senior. Plus, the freshman year is only your 1st year. You've got *plenty* of time to go
- BUT that doesn't mean you should save all the Honors or AP classes until senior year. Ration it out. Senior year is supposed to be the fun year
- Don't let the teachers pressure you about college. You DON'T have to have it all figured out right now. It's your life, and you take however long you need to decide what you want to do with it. There isn't a deadline
- Aim to take similar classes. Though it is good to be learned in different subjects, colleges like to see you interested in one particular subject bc that's what you'll know the most about. For example, I'm a huge history geek, so I stick to as many history and ancient language classes that I can. Also remember that some schools offer online courses that you do on your own time
- Exploeitories/electives/extra circulars are just as important as the core classes
- TOTALLY reccomend taking philosophy, logic, and rhetoric classes. Even if that isn't the direction you want to go with your life, colleges and jobs LOVE seeing applicants who are educated thinkers and speakers. That could be just the thing that gets you into a university vs the guy who has the same GPA as you but no knowledge in philosophy or logic
- The cliques aren't as bad as you think they are. In fact, cliques are more fiction than anything
- Most drama comes from middle school. If you're leaving middle to go to high school, it is likely that you've already been through the worst of it where drama is concerned
- Don't be afraid to talk to the student counselor (ik, what swine would say a thing like that 😱). But seriously, though. Talk to them about job choices, college choices, your classes, mental problems, anything. It is literally their job to help you out. They're humans just like you
- And lastly, the classes are supposed to challenge you. Don't crack under pressure, and ask for help if you need it. Bc 1 thing that the middle school teachers got right when they tell you about high school is this: teachers aren't gonna hold your hand anymore. You're becoming an adult now, so focus on what REALLY matters. And that's your education. But also, your mental health is very important too. Even more so, really. So don't be afraid to take a break every now and then. But really, the teachers are so fun in high school. I may be biased in this point, but usually high school is much more laid back (in a way) than middle school. You'll love it
So yeah, I hope that was helpful to you. And good luck :)))
Today's just one of those days where I'm holding a stick and everyone looks a little bit too much like a piñata, ya know what I'm sayin?
