Warm blood dripped down your neck, the clamouring of the TV now becoming faint background noise.
How long have you been lying like this? Your body slowly pooling blood. Was it getting warmer or colder? You couldn't tell. You couldn't move, couldn't scream for help. Every second was agonizing, but despite all that, you could feel it. You could feel the pressing eyes on you. You knew in the back of your mind that it'd be pointless to call for help, but the human instinct was too strong.
You flexed your vocal cords and tried to form words, your vision blurry. your hands getting cold. "He...lp..." You croaked. Laurel looked down, "Hm?" They smirked, "You still have enough energy to talk? How fascinating." Their voice was like velvet and as smooth as butter with hints of seduction some would call it comforting, but in this moment, it felt disregarding and taunting "Hel..p.." "Mmm."
They took a sip from their glass with a mysteriously thick red substance. Deep down, you knew what it was, but the thought made your deeply lacerated stomach churn. "Why should I help you?" You look absolutely ravishing, bleeding out on the floor." His false words of flattery did little to dull the pain or warm your quickly chilling body. "Plea-"
"Shhh, hush up, darling, this moment is better enjoyed silent," he chuckled and took another sip of his drink.
I wanna write comfort so bad, but every time I do, it's just angst.

Don't worry, this is not rude or pushy at all! It's actually a really fair request. I always thought it was a little unfair how I did one for Valeria and Ilyas (even writing a fanfic for him), but nothing for Laurel! (They are a trio, after all 🤭).
There's one for him that's actually in the works, but I've put it on the back burner for a while!

Sometimes I forget some people actively hate Yui because ethier they want to be constantly harassed by vampires or because they think they would do a better job than her.
They wouldn’t.
They would actually die.
100%. Really fast, too! Honestly, I think people don't take it seriously enough that humans are food to vampires. Like, consider how you feel about cows… and consider how you'd feel about one that you were given if you were practically never able to eat any meat, AND you've always had to be the one to slaughter them, so you're already used to this being the way you get your burgers. Cows are super cute and sweet! But they're just cows. You might feel a little bad, but unless that cow is really, REALLY special, you're probably not going to actually hold back. Not killing the cow is an act of generosity and sacrifice - and at the very least, you are going to keep that cow as your *pet,* not as your equal. Frankly, the fact that a human being might be as intelligent as you are is not something that would occur to a decades old vampire, and also something that might not be true! I am excited to talk about this, but I'll stick to the topic at hand for now. Now, combine all this with the Sakamaki Brothers' absolutely toxic personalities, and the fact that they are eternally bored teenage boys with practically no jobs or prospects that don't involve killing you. Also, friendly reminder that, no, they cannot just bite you forever very moderately so that you can stay alive. If they do that, you're going to start turning into a vampire, and the process is almost sure to kill you horribly. It makes absolutely no sense to get attached to you. Yui is an incredible exception, and it is very much due to Cordelia's heart, though that isn't sufficient in itself. Frankly, the best option for your average bride is to go crazy as fast as you can and try to enjoy the ride. We all go sometime. It's what we are. At least it's a potentially beautiful way to die, right? (Do not listen to me.)
I too believe that some of Rejet's games take place in the same universe! The events of Black Wolves Saga took place several centuries ago, when the Sakamaki were children, and everything that happens in Dance With Devils, Carnelian Blood and Diabolik Lovers is happening at about the same time. And yes, I'm sure Karl is the big bad in all of this histories 💀.
OMGGGG YESS! The cat people in Black Wolves Saga are never mentioned in any of the diaboys routes unlike races like the Vampires (obviously), Wolves, Vibora, and Alder. It was a little suspicious why there were so few races mentioned in Diabolik Lovers.
It's easy to assume that those four just stood the test of time, and that might be true. However, there was such a wide variety of races in the beginning of Black Wolves Saga, but most of them were either dead or dying, like the bunny boy, Zara Skeens. He's the last of his kind, and the only reason he isn't dead is that he was taken in by Foina's dad, Edgar Galland.
The same goes for the cat boys, Mejojo, Auger, and Julian. I would say the same for their parents as well, but most of them met an unfortunate fate, by the start of the story and now their whole race is slowly dying just like the humans the wolves were killing at the time. Yes you read that right there were humans living in the demon world more specifically Weblin a place for both humans and demi-humans, (creatures who have the power to shift between both human and animal forms.) before Arles made it his life misson to eradicate them.
I'm also assuming their lifespan is not nearly as long as vampires. But it wasn't just the rabbit race human race or the cat race that were dying some wolves were also catching a disease that was wiping out their race aswell (seriously, what's up with Rejet and having diseases decimate entire races?).
The disease was called Zodiva, a.k.a. "Mad Wolf Disease." Some known characters afflicted with this disease were Arles and Rath. However, it's puzzling why we don't see this disease affecting modern-day Diabolik Lovers wolves. My theory is that Karl released this disease to quell the rebellious wolf population; as the wiki states, "For many years, humans, cats, and wolves shared political power, but one day, the wolves revolted, plunging the country into chaos." and "Arles reportedly led a revolt against the monarchy 10 years before the story's beginning and was thus driven out along with the other wolves."
Karl has a history of afflicting people with diseases to defeat them (cough, cough, the founders).
While we're on the topic of founders, we can imply that the person who created Endzeit was Carnelian Brecht from the series Carnelian Blood @vampirerosemary explains it way better then I ever could so I would recommend you read these 3 post!

🦇DIABOLIK LOVERS IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS CARNELIAN BLOOD?🦇
Regarding Carnelian Blood in Dance with Devils, it's 100% canon that vampires exist, and they are the main antagonists in the game, alongside the church. Both settings take place in Japan and involve magical beings, but it's a little confusing why vampires are mentioned in Dance with Devils while devils aren't mentioned in Diabolik Lovers. Kanato and Laito make references to Incubus (Kanato literally had the spirit of an Incubus possess Teddy and hold Yui down), and Urie is an Incubus. So, it's possible that devils are a small or lesser-known race in Diabolik Lovers.
It's also interesting that Nesta is canonically the father of Lindo, and the fact that Nesta and Karlheinz share a striking resemblance, from their hair to their clothing style, it's noteworthy to mention Karlheinz's affinity for cosplaying different people, like Reinhart, and having kids who all look different from each other suggests that he might have assumed various identities and appearances throughout history. This idea is even supported by the fact that Kanato mentioned that their father could change his appearance, becoming a man or a woman at any time, and even they don't know what he truly looks like.
You can argue that Lindo gets his hair colour and eye from his mom
But keep in mind, Karl has a track record of making red-haired kids.

In my own personal headcanon, vampires age every 50 years. So if what the wiki says is true, that Karl is about 2000 years old, that means he's in his 40s.
In conclusion, Karlheinz is having the world's worst mid-life crisis, and he's making it everyone's problem. 💀

So far, the story is still in its outline phase. I did have a writer wave where the ideas flowed freely so now I'm just trying to piece all the fragments together
I know some people don't like to know what happens at the end of a story but I feel like the appeal of doing that setup comes with the progression of the actual story but on to the headcanons
Cordeila is still alive during this time (yes, the MC will run into her)
It takes place around 1994
The boys are living in Romania
My OC for the story I was having a hard time coming up with a name or specific look for her, so I was thinking maybe she could just be nameless or a self insert like Y/N L/N but I'm still deciding...
I have noticed that the boys have been written more fluffy in recent years and don't get me wrong I love it but sometimes I do wish there was a little bit more content focusing on their more darker side so if your looking for more DL fanfiction like that @jardinsdeminuit has a wonderful one shot selection of fics on their ao3

My personal favourite was "Shackled" 🤭
"The Switch" by Rinster is truly one of the best DL fanfiction I have ever read. The story telling, the boy characterization, the fact that it's choices based, meaning your actions can have consequences it's still ongoing, but so far it has 74 chapters, which should be plenty for now!

If you're looking for art that really captures the mood of the different routes, @ausd has amazing art that captures that chilling feeling, especially laitos route mmm CHEFS KISS everytime I look at their art it's just!
If you want some analysis that'll make you cry read "The Fall of Yui Komori: A Partial Analysis of Laito’s HDB Route" by @everything-laito I swear after reading this I needed to put my phone down and take a breath of fresh air it definitely gave me a new found perspective on just how strong Yui it's just so good.
@carlatsukinamistolemyhamsandwich also makes analysis, but her fanfictions MWAH they capture Shin sadistic side perfectly my personal favourite is Siren’s Call (Siren!Shin x Reader One Shot) (this one is not a shin fic but it's my guilty pleasure Bathtub Merman - Merman!Azusa Mukami x Reader One Shot you can tell I have a thing for under water creatures)
@dixbolik-lovers does all the boys and her Aus are to die for, and the fanfiction can be found on ao3 and Wattpad as well.

I'm a firm believer that most of Rejets games take place in the same universe it can be different points In time, but it's the same universe.
Especially when it comes to these next 4 games, I can go on a whole rant about it! (but most fans do agree upon this anyway.)
