Eventual Klaus Mikaelson x Siphoner! Reader
I feel like I should mention that most of this fanfic is going to be build up. I plan on having Klaus and the reader get together but I want it to be one of the slowest burns ever. I want there to be tension, but I also don’t want to force something too quickly. I feel like Klaus’ paranoia is what makes relationships hard for him on the show. I want to build a solid foundation for them so that I don’t have to rely on miscommunication as a trope to be the main storyline of the fanfic. I want to have them be together helping each other throughout the series.
The last day
Elena spent the entire night explaining what I had missed while I slept through the day. Bonnie had faked her death, Elijah was undaggered, and there was a plan to kill Klaus which didn't involve anyone dying.
Also Elijah and Klaus were siblings, it wasn't as important but I was rather shocked at the news.
She asked if I wanted to go over to the Salvatore house to hear the plan, and I agreed.
She drove me over and I was shocked to see Alaric standing in the house. I threw him across the room, still juiced up from last night. "Y/N, what the hell?" Jenna yelled going to get him. "I hesitated last time and Bonnie died I am not risking shit again." I said putting my hand up to attack again. "Y/N, calm down, it's Ric. Klaus let him go, he went back into his own body." I put my arm down looking over to Alaric as he groaned sitting back up. "Sorry, Ric, you understand right?"
He shot me a thumbs up as Jenna helped him to stand.
"I'd love an apology too," Damon called from his spot across the room.
"For what?" He rolled his eyes, "I don't know, almost killing me for saving Bonnie and helping our plan." I looked at him in disbelief, "Oh come on. I thought you had stopped me from helping my friend as she killed herself. I regret nothing and I'd do it again." Elijah raised a brow at the threat. I looked over at Stefan and he raised his hands defensively.
"Alright, now that everyone is here, let's get on with the plan." Elena spoke up.
"The plan is stupid," Damon responded. "No it isn't Damon, it will work." Elena tried to reason with him. "I'm not going to die, Elijah has an elixir. It's going to work, I'm going to be fine." She tried to reassure him.
Damon stared at her longingly, "I don't want to lose you," he whispered. I looked over at Stefan who looked just as uncomfortable as me. "You won't." Elena spoke assuredly. He stared at her a moment longer before in a blur, he bit into his wrist and forced his blood down her throat. I pushed him off of her with a spell going over to pick her off the floor.
"Dammit Damon," Stefan growled out. "How could you of all people take this choice away from her?"
"C'mon brother, admit you wish you had the balls to do it."
Stefan shoved him into a wall shoving a stake onto his chest. I was kind of ok with his death at the moment, but Elena stopped him before he drove it through his heart.
Damon took this opportunity to drive the same stake into Stefan's stomach. I was on him in a second forcing him down to his knees as he held his head in pain. Elena pulled the stake out of Stefan as I grabbed Damon. I siphoned him while dragging him along. I opened the door and shoved him out of it slamming it in his face.
Elijah looked particularly interested at the sudden chaos and stepped back as I went to assess Stefan's well being.
"I'll be back before nightfall, it appears as if my presence isn't needed to assist Elena any longer." Elena nodded him off and he walked out the front door.
I had decided to go with Ric to the Grill. He wanted to check on Damon, and I wanted to follow him to be sure Klaus had really left his body.
Damon was sitting sadly at the bar sipping a glass of Bourbon. Alaric asked for one as well. I resigned myself to a glass of water as I had no money on me.
"I screwed up," Damon spoke suddenly. "Duh," I answered taking a sip of my water. Ric shot me a look then answered himself, "Yeah you did."
A british voice appeared behind us, "Gentlemen, why so glum?"
He looked over at me, "Oh sorry love, I didn't even notice you there."
I rolled my eyes ignoring him. "Klaus, I presume?" Damon asked. "In the flesh," he hit Alaric's back, "Thanks for the loaner mate." Damon stood up angrily, "Why'd you drop in to say hi?"
Klaus glared back at him, "I'm told you and your brother fancy my doppelgänger. I dropped by to remind you not to get in my way."
Damon laughed, "Thanks for the advice. Any chance you feel like postponing til next month? Maybe taking a rain check?" Klaus looked bamboozled, "You're kidding," he looked towards me and Alaric, "He is kidding right?" I shook my head as Alaric answered, "Not really, no."
"I mean what is one month in the grand scheme of things?" Damon spoke drunkenly. "Let me be clear...I have my vampire. I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up."
"Why are you British?" I mumbled out unable to keep my thoughts to myself.
"Excuse me?" Klaus stammered taken aback. "I mean," Alaric looked at me confused, "You've been alive for like forever and you chose to stick with this accent why?" He looked over at Damon who just shrugged.
"I'm sorry I'm a bit loopy I haven't slept much since you killed my friend." Klaus rolled his eyes. "You can't still be hung up on that can you?"
"Are you being so serious right now?" I asked him, "She died like yesterday." He nodded in acknowledgment, then chose to walk away.
"That was fun," Damon spoke taking a big swig of his drink. "You're gonna fuck it up aren't you?" I asked. He looked over at me, "Do you think if I took the werewolf out of the equation, she'd forgive me?"
"It wouldn't matter you'd be dead." Alaric answered for me. "Oh come on, without a wolf Klaus can't do the ritual. I'll have bought her another month." "And you'll also be dead" I spoke cockily smiling at him as I finished my water. "Are you going to help me or not?" Damon asked. "Nope," I spoke standing up and walking to my car.
I waited til late in the night to drive over to the Salvatore house. I don't know why Id expected Elena to be there, but I felt her loss of comfort before I noticed it. Damon had messed up the plan of course, but Klaus had planned ahead and kidnapped Jules and turned Jenna. "God dammit Damon," I said shoving him out of the way when he told me.
"I know I know, I offered myself but he wouldn't take me," I raised a brow confused. "Tyler bit me." My jaw dropped in shock, Damon was going to die.
Too much was happening and I so was not equipped to deal with it all. John was pissed at Damon actually everyone was pissed at Damon and now Stefan was trying to sacrifice himself.
"I have idea," I spoke up suddenly. "It'll definitely get Jenna out, but you still might die." I said to Stefan. He nodded, "Let's do it."
I watched from the clearing as Stefan approached Klaus. They sped up to the hill and when Klaus turned his back to me I ran toward Elena's ring of fire. I parted it walking inside to talk with her. "What the" I interrupted her holding a finger to my mouth. "I'm going to save Jenna stay calm," I whispered into her ear. She nodded tears in her eyes as she watched me walk to the edge of her ring. I looked over at the witch making sure she wasn't watching as I slowly lowered the part closest to me and exited so I was in front of Jenna. I held a finger to my lips when she saw me before beginning to siphon the magic keeping her fire up. When it finally was smothered, I said one word, "Run." In an instant she was gone, speeding off into the woods. The witch looked over at me shooting off a spell in my direction. I let myself siphon its magic while allowing it to hit me and shot a ball of fire at her. She ducked moving to keep me away from the altar as she continued firing off spells.
I felt arms constructing me before I could blink.
"Oh love, this was a terribly flawed plan." I struggled in Klaus' grasp but I couldn't make contact with his skin so I couldn't siphon him. "I do appreciate the bravery so you know what?" He brought a hand to his mouth, biting it, "You can take her place." With that he shoved his blood into my mouth. I fought against him biting at his hand until I pulled out a chunk of skin. He pulled back and I spit it out.
"Oh a fighter are we?" He inspected his wound before pulling me up once more. "I think I'm going to enjoy this,"
He grabbed my head ready to snap my neck when his witch yelled out, "Wait," He paused looking up at her confused.
"You can't kill her." Klaus looked down at me as if he missed a sign that said 'Don't kill ever.' When he didn't find one he looked back up at the witch. "The witches already don't like this, if you kill her they will kill us all." Klaus rolled his eyes. "Yes I'm sure her ancestors will not be pleased, but I doubt they have much sway. Besides, she'll see them very soon." His eyes grew darker as veins appeared under them. "Klaus you can't! She can't become a vampire." I sighed at the mention of the prophecy. I was never meant to be a real witch. If I became a vampire I could siphon myself, basically making me a normal witch. The ancestors had a big problem with that. Klaus looked at me once more probably wondering why I was sighing at the mention of my ancestors protecting me.
"Go and get the spare, we have to complete the ritual now!" Klaus glared at her but let me go. I took this as an opportunity to shoot him with a fire spell. He put himself out in a flash picking me up by the coat and baring his fangs. I felt a dull thud to my head and everything went black.
Episode POV
Klaus dropped the girl to the floor looking up at Greta she held up the rock she used to hit her. "She's a siphoner, you have to hit her with something that doesn't have magic." Klaus smirked at the witch rushing off and back in a flash with a new vampire he'd tied up in the woods just in case. The new vampire seemed terrified of everything but he wasn't for long. Klaus killed Jules first and then the vampire. When Elena's ring of fire dropped, she looked over Y/N's unconscious body. Everyone was ok. She was going to be ok, and Klaus was going to die. She walked swiftly past him to the altar and waited for him to appear behind her.
"Thank you Elena," Klaus chided.
"Burn in hell." was all she said in response. Klaus bit her soon after draining the blood from her body until she was dead at his feet.
"It's happening, I can feel it." The change was happening, his eyes turned yellow and his fangs grew longer. It wasn't for long though, when Bonnie forced him onto the ground with the strength of 100 witches behind her.
"You were dead!" he screamed out. Bonnie snapped Greta's neck when she attempted to help him. Damon picks up Elena and walks out of the way of Bonnie's path. He decides to wait until it is over to help Y/N as well.
"Elijah," Klaus spoke in disbelief. Elijah stuck his hand into Klaus' chest and began to pull at his heart, "In the name of our family Niklaus."
"I didn't bury them at sea," Klaus speaks swiftly.
"You kill me and you'll never find them,"
Elijah looks confused as he ignores the shouts at him to just end it already. "I'll reunite you with them, I give you my word, brother."
"Do it and I'll take you both out!" Bonnie threatened. "You'll die." "I don't care!"
"I'm sorry," Elijah called out before he ran himself and Klaus away.
