Real👑Alcazar SEVILLA🇪🇦 "El Patio del Yeso" 📷 was discovered by the Architect Tubino during the late nineteenth century. It consists of a rectangular courtyard with a center pool around which the rooms are distributed. During the Almohad period, there were two porticos that opened to this courtyard. Today there is only the southern one, a jewel of the Almohad architecture; It consists of a larger central arch, on aris with the door of the room behind and flanked by three smaller arches on columns on each side. This portico is composed by lintels, so there is no weight over the archs, its only function is decorative. The decoration of these walls is called "tsebka", a typical Almohad and sevillian style. The architect Ahmed Ben Basso will use this style to decorate the exterior walls of the Giralda. In the room behind the portico it has appeared recently painted geometric decoration from XII century and painted floral decoration from XVI century. . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#vandershka#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#patio (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBWys2aF3iC/?igshid=1ke0t4shjxjw4
Patio de las Doncellas Real Alcázar de Sevilla📷🇪🇦 The “Patio de las Doncellas” has a square shape with four boarding galleries; two consisting of seven arches and the others having five arches. The sides of the bedding are decorated with intertwined pointed arches separated by a marble column, which replaced the original brick columns. The lobed arches bear plaster works and reliefs, thus jointly with the rest of the structure results in a gran geometric and symmetric work. With regards to the lower level, the same had spaces or rooms which were available for guests, while the superior level was reserved for private usage. The superior level was restored between 1540 and 1572. The Patio enables access to three palace halls named; “el Salon del Dormitorio”, Carlos V and the Ambassadors, the latter containing medals and imperial coats of arms . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#patio#doncellas (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBTIzsxleMA/?igshid=jhgoj70csvmn
Patio de las Muñecas - Dolls Courtyard Real Alcázar de Sevilla📷🇪🇦🗝️🚪 Dolls Courtyard This small courtyard was designed to organize the rooms of the Palace private area. It owes its name to the doll heads that decorate the starts of the arc closest to the lobby. The beautiful columns and capitals, are Caliphal and Roman origin. The upper two floors were built during the nineteenth century. domestic rooms around this courtyard, were completely remodeled during the Catholic Monarchs reign . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#door#doors#puerta (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBRsO3sFKOy/?igshid=2yh3en5901ps
Cúpula del Salón de los Embajadores - Real Alcázar de Sevilla📷🇪🇦 The Almohad monarchs had a magnificent fortress built in Seville. At later dates this construction underwent notable modifications by the Christian kings. Pedro I ordered to erect a palace in Mudejar style in the XIV century, the construction emulates the palace of the lions of the Alhambra in Granada. In it is the Hall of Ambassadors, the most luxurious and decorated room in the palatial enclosure. The dome that the image offers us corresponds to that of the Ambassadors' Hall, it is one of the top works of Mudéjar Art that denotes a marked Islamic influence. This wonderful dome is made of wood and is supported by pendentives with golden muqarnas, these consist of juxtaposed and hanging prisms that reminds us of stalactites. The dome is dated 1427 and was made by the carpenter Diego Ruiz. This dome did that in the past . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#cupula#dome (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_iDpMal5vj/?igshid=dqfzqigno29i
Salón de los Tapices 🇪🇦 Tapestries Hall The Tapestries Hall was completely destroyed after the earthquake of Lisbon in 1755 and was remodeled by Sebastian Van Der Borcht. The originals were woven in the workshop of Wilhelm Pannemaker. between 1548 and 1554. The tapestries erposed today were commissioned by Philip V during the eighteenth century to the Royal Tapestry Factory of Santa Barbara. . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#follome#likeforlike#like4like#4f4#tapices#tapestries (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_TJ9stF7X9/?igshid=z3irqowb860e
GARDEN OF THE GALLEY🇪🇦 The Garden ofthe Galley is named by the galleys that there were cut out of the myrtle hedges, as an imitation of naval engagements, bombarding each other with water cannons. Today nothing of these galleys remains. The garden includes four beds planted with a rich variety of flowers and Mediterranean shrubs. It is connected to the King Peter I Palace by a pergola supported on pillars with Renaissance reliefdecoration. In its centre rises a marble column erected in homage of the king Al-Mutamid, governor and poet of Seville. It is inscribed on one side with one of his poems in which the King exrpresses his longing to return to the gardens of his "blessed palace": "God grant that I may die in Seville and that our graves be opened there at the resurrection". . . . . #RealAlcázar#turismo#Arquitectura#cultura#realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#follome#likeforlike#like4like#follow4follow#4f4 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_Q1FaflvsO/?igshid=16ubmhv613zn4
REAL ALCÁZAR SEVILLA SPAIN🇪🇸 @vandershka Peter I Palace's Façade The Palace of King Pedro I, is the great contribution Mudejar to the Alcazar of Seville (1364-1367). The facade of this great palace unfolds in the Patio de la Monteria as a great altarpiece. Responds to Muslims and eventually Byzantines diagrams. It shows a tripartite organization. The central façade, made of stone, is flanked by multifoil blind arches that are prolonged interbreeding and forming sebka decoration. A large frieze, where Arabs and Christians elements coe. rist: schematized decoration inspired in Nature along with the coats of arms of Castile, Leon and the Order of the Band, separates the turo plants. At the upper area runs a gallery with arcades of multifoil arches also organized through a tripartite scheme. A beautiful inscription in Kufic characters carried out in blue pottery said: "The Empire for Allah", and around this words, another inscription, in gothic characters, affirms "The highest, noblest and most powerful conqueror Don Pedro, by God's grace King of Castile and Leon, has caused these Alcazares and these palaces and these façades to be built, which was done in the year 1402" (1364). The hispanic era begins at year 38 a. C., so 1364 corresponds to the Gregorian calendar. The entire façade is sheltered under a huge wooden eave of combed muquarnas. . . . . . #realalcazar#seville#sevilla#andalucia#andalusia#travel#tourist#vacation#solotravel#travelwriter#blogger#spain#españa#wanderlust#travelgram#vandershka#travelling#hiking#travelbug#follome#likeforlike#like4like#follow4follow#followforfollow#f4f (à Real Alcázar de Sevilla) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_Luddvlh5l/?igshid=1jjaevfhmxvff
