Through The Viewfinder

Through the viewfinder I compose and capture the pictures I envision. All featured works are original unless stated otherwise. The soft evening light on the buildings caught my attention. Only after importing the photos into my folder did I realized I took similar photos from this angle two years ago. Some things remained, but some things has also changed. The fact is nothing stays the same. Everything changes with time, be it by mother nature or human intervention.

On the ground floor of the south wing of the Louvre is the Salle du Manège. It was once the imperial riding school, today it houses sculptures from the great aristocratic collections of antiquities amasses in France and Italy during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Happy Halloween!

This is the Cathedral Square (Domplatz) that sits right in front of the Salzburg Cathedral (Salzburger Dom), and is surrounded by Residenz Palace and St. Peter's Abbey. The Salzburg Cathedral is the city's most significant piece of architecture and its spiritual center, and it is also the site of Mozart's baptism. For a lively atmosphere, visit the square during the day, and for a more serene and peaceful atmosphere return to the square in the evening just before sunset.

Standing out from the rest

Sometimes it pays to look back. I saw these two trees coming down the road, and though it stood out to my eyes, but it didn’t stand out as a worthy photograph. So, I kept on going down, and once I past the bend a good 5 meters or so, I decided to turn around for another look at the trees. This second look gave me the composition I wanted with the misty cloud in the background and the bend in the road making the trees stand out more, by giving it a sense of space and location.

This was well worth the sleep deprivation, and braving a chilly morning.

Ansel Adams once talked about how he would sometimes arrive at places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter, and for me this picture was that moment he talked about.

Caught a sight of the beautiful crescent moon at twilight on the drive back from Kaaterskill Falls.
