Hi all! It's been a while since I've really genuinely used this blog and I wanna try to update it.

My names mercy! I'm 23, I'm a wolf therian and general all around barky puppy arwarf!

My Sona right now is a sheep and hopefully somewhat soon I'll have art of me (my wolf form!).

I mainly tend to reblog with spouts of activity here and there, though I wanna be more active and do more artwork + stories! And bark. I bark a lot.

celestia is such a funny character like she's constantly manipulating twilight and friends to do shit instead of just asking and you could arguably frame that as being bc she's a "god" and pushing fate to her design or whatever, except that she engages with the group like a normal and relatable person, which makes it more like villainous machinations, except 90% of this manipulation goes towards things like "I don't want my party to be boring shit again. put my little country girl blorbos in there with zero prep so they fuck it up bad"

Celestia instantly makes more sense as a character when you ignore the princess stuff and remember that she's a 1000+ years old wizard. Of course she does manipulative trickster stuff to teach moral lessons and/or cause chaos to amuse herself, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course sometimes she's actually socially awkward and bad at personal relationships and has bad ideas that she thought were good that result in her eating shit embarrassing style, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course she lets the aristocrats and nobles run around being assholes she's still running on wizard advisor programming, she's basically trying to merlin the entire upper class of equestria instead of just a king and some knights. "Yeah uuhhh we'll release the incarnation of chaos himself from his ancient prison because we think this shy girl can be friends with him", terrible plan if you're thinking like a ruler, amazing plan if you're thinking like a wizard. Just look at Canterlot 'Castle' for five seconds and ask yourself if that's in any way a castle. No. Wizard tower, yes. Wizard.

my buddy and I were crawling some servers on gmod one day, just dinking around and being mild nuisances. we found one server where everyone had some ridiculous rank/title–various mythical creatures and wizards and stuff. We bothered someone badly enough (probably made a big mess of barrels or something) that we got put in jail, but we weren’t really interested in playing gmod as much as just goofing off, so we hung around the server for a while. the residents were chatting pretty casually, until someone, in a frantic tone, says “Janus is coming! We need to get this place cleaned up!” Janus logs in, and he has the title of God. Someone sheepishly asks “hey what’s up Janus?” Janus replies with an ear-splittingly loud buzzing static noise that drowns every sound on the server out. me and my buddy absolutely lost our minds

the notion that religion is fundamental to culture and innate to humanity is so self-evidently absurd to me like. sure the modern world is definitely very shaped by religion. but you're extrapolating the past 300, maybe 500 years of sociopolitics across all of human history. you trying to tell me that you know how homo erectus behaved culturally, that not a single society over multiple millions of years were ever dead-set atheists? you can't even compare ancient egyptian religion 1:1 to modern religion. there's so many extant indigenous cultures literally today that don't resemble the major religions at all
