Ownership meant a physical copy. Now you own nothing and can't find what you want across multiple streaming platforms.
Bring back headphones that plug in. Bring back expandable memory. Bring back owning media.

I often feel politically isolated in this country because even much of the left seems trapped in identity-based politics rather than serious governance thinking. More broadly, I have started to feel that modern left politics has failed to offer a compelling framework for mass mobilization except in a few scattered regional pockets.
The media environment has changed. Fast-paced, short-form content rewards outrage, tribalism, and reactionary narratives far more than nuance or policy depth. Serious discussions about governance reform, urban planning, institutional capacity, public service delivery, or long-term civic improvement barely register because they donβt generate emotional engagement at scale.
It often feels like the issues that materially shape peopleβs lives are the ones least likely to command public attention. Sometimes it seems as though only a tiny minority actually care about structural improvement, which makes the broader political situation feel deeply discouraging.
