Many of the animals willl arrive dead if exported live due to dehydration from poor travelling conditions. Animal welfare is not a priority in many non western countries, particularly China.

Chinese medicine is not scientific and there is no merit or value or benefit at all in using rendered donkey skins to cure ailments. It’s absolute nonsense. Please stop breeding these poor animals for exploitation.

Farming animals has a severe impact on land and resources (water, land, feed crops, pollution from mass factory farming going into waterways and dung), use of animal feed crops to feed them which could yield more profit if the land was used for human food crops, feeding the indigenous people and perhaps export to the west for exotic out of season fruits and vegetables.

Please stop this unecessary cruelty and exploitation to China. China is a huge country and its sad that its own supply farming and consumption of these poor animals (sickening alone) is not enough to satisfy the sick demand for animals and they demand more from Egypt. Furthermore, African nations have refused to supply this demand. Please follow their lead.

Why are you vegan?

The fact that I feel obligated to lie and say "because it's healthier" other than my real answer "because I care about animals" shows how negative people can be to animal compassion.

Things I’ve Learned Since Going Vegan

You can slice someone’s throat and still love them.

The word “need” can only also mean “could easily live without but do kinda want.”

The word “humane” can mean literally anything you want it to.

It’s okay to call people out for harmful behaviour unless that behaviour involves bacon.

Plants definitely feel pain and lawns scream when you mow them.

Crop workers are exploited but slaughterhouse workers definitely aren’t. No exploitation here, no sir.

Meat is the only food that contains protein.

“Found the vegan” is still funny and original the millionth time.

Before humans came along, cows were just wandering around with massive udders praying for someone to invent industrialised agriculture.

Steak is cheaper than beans, rice, pasta and canned vegetables.

While 99% of all meat comes from factory farms, no one eats that meat.

Everyone only buys local, organic, humane, Dalai Lama approved meat.

Everyone has an uncle who owns a farm straight out of a 1950′s Americana magazine.

Everyone has a degree in nutrition and evolutionary biology.

Everyone knows that one guy who went vegan and almost died.

Everyone is free to talk about their identity, beliefs and interests without being shamed for them. Unless they’re vegan. Vegans can fuck off.

Stop messing with marine life!

I don't care how "cool it'll look" for a picture, or how "cool" of an experience you think it is. STOP TOUCHING MARINE LIFE! don't pick up a turtle you see near the shore, don't pick up a sand crab, don't pick up an octopus! It can be harmful and traumatizing STOP

More than a diet

It's about making a difference as a community and staying positive even when things seem bleak. Why don't you eat meat??

I would never EVER purposely eat an animal, I don’t care what kind of flesh it is: chicken flesh, cow flesh, pig flesh, etc. and why? The same reason you wouldn’t eat a cat or a dog. Animals are animals, there isn’t a compassion label on each individual animal. If you wouldn’t eat a dog then why the hell would you eat a pig? The difference is species and you choose to be blinded by the fact that one of them is placed on a higher pedestal than the other. All animals have something in common, they have feelings, they can sense and have emotions. Maybe you think one is cuter than the other. Fair enough, but that doesn’t mean you can kill one for being less attractive than the other. Maybe I think dogs are cuter than cats, but I’m not fucking insane enough to eat one for being less “good looking”

Farmed animals are raised only to be eaten. That is their purpose for existing. If people did not eat them, they would not exist. Many of these domesticated farm animals would not survive in the wild, without human care. So you would actually be rendering them extinct. Raising crops is analogous to raising livestock. Crops are raised only to be eaten, they are cut from their life source before they die of natural causes. People don’t eat livestock because they are “ugly.” Farm raised elk, deer, rabbits, pheasants, ducks, etc. are all beautiful animals. They are raised only to be consumed. Cats and dogs are not raised to be eaten. That’s why people don’t eat them. To each their own. If you’re gonna be a vegan, that’s great. You are an outlier and the culinary world will never revolve around your tastes, because they’re not better than the preexisting ones.

Dogs and cats aren't raise to be eaten, so they aren't eaten? Are you really that dense? Lots of countries eat what you consider a "house pet". Also they shouldn't be bred for human consumption, let them go extinct! It's better than breeding billions of them only to have them suffer and die. I would be much more humane to just let them not be born at all than to be born short lived and in misery.
