Five times Vel and Kleya were friends with benefits on Yavin, and one time they were more.
So Little Is A Stone by oldhobbies
Itās been months now. Why is she acting like Luthenās the first person in the Galaxy whoās ever died? Sometimes a phantom Vel sits beside her in the radio room, holding a fictional cup of tea with the worn-out care that clung to her like sweat on Yavin. Vel doesnāt say You know why. Every loss is different. Every oneās the same. Kleya hears it anyway. Or, the escape from Coruscant takes a physical toll on Kleya, and her rebellion is forced into a different shape. But even away from the Alliance, she has friends everywhere.

Kleya always pretends to be asleep when Vel slips into the yurt in those soft, slow hours of the morning. What Vel doesn't know can't hurt her.
Make It Look Good by write4good
After leaving Luthen's Axis network--Vel is adrift. Without purpose. Then--she runs into Kleya. At a strip club.
belly of the beast by ofwings
Kleya has done this calculus herself, more than once, wrapped in shadows and wielding information like a poison-dipped dagger. But itās startling here, in the shining halls of the Alliance, rubber stamped by the Chancellor. Thereās no fighting it.
What If The Way You Hold Me Is Actually What's Holy by write4good

You Fire Me Up And Then Drop Me Down Cold (Or Is That Reversed?) by write4good
After a long night on patrol on Hoth, Vel is looking forward to a warm meal with her cousin. She's also hoping. Maybe. That at some point. She might see Kleya somewhere in the icy passageways. That would be enough to warm her up, she's sure. Meanwhile, Kleya has been avoiding Vel. As best she can. In the long months since Yavin. Because every time she sees Vel, her blood turns hot. And she finds it a little hard not to stare. What she really needs, is a cold shower.
Extra Special Care by write4good
After an injury, Kleya gets some of Vel's extra special care.
Slow Like Honey by Kiwi_in_space
Itās not fair how Vel can do this to her. Melt her into a puddle of desperation in just a matter of minutes. Play her body like an instrument - one that Vel has apparently made it her life mission to master the craft of. After years of going without this - years where Kleya was terrified to let herself admit how badly she needed to be properly touched, being with Vel is like a veritable feast.
That I Were a Glove Upon That Hand by JJPOR
1ABY: As the Galactic Civil War gathers pace, Captain Marki of Alliance Clandestine Operations has urgent business to discuss with a certain Colonel Sartha.
Aftertaste by rubikswriter
Theyāre not meant to be tender about this; thatās the arrangement. They come to each other because the war is ugly, because sleep is unreliable, because desire is simpler than grief, and bodies are sometimes easier to understand than words.
When the Sun Came up, I Was Looking at You by Kiwi_in_space
āJust this once,ā Kleya breathes. Sheās so close their foreheads are nearly touching. Vel nods, already desperate to get her mouth back on Kleyaās. / āJust this once,ā she agrees. 5 times they told themselves it was a means to an end, and the 1 time they realized it was the ending they both wanted.
Hands and the Heart by kasel
Vel lifts her right hand and hesitates for a moment before she catches the thin blanket Kleyaās draped over herself and pulls it higher to her chest. Then a sudden urge to keep the strands of Kleyaās hair away from her face strikes her. She wants to slide her hands under Kleyaās knees and shoulders and carry her to a proper bed so that she might sleep better.
A Moment Of Peace & A Glorious Sunrise by write4good
After a long night of celebration and revelry on Yavin, Kleya wakes Vel while the rest of the galaxy still seems to be sleeping. She has something she wants to share with Vel. And though Vel is grumpy, she's always happy to spend more time with Kleya.

And with that, the first Velkleya Week has run its course - thank you to all of you that participated! The turnout was so much more than I ever expected, and I'm grateful to everyone that took the time to write, draw, comment, beta read, leave kudos, reblog, cheerlead, etc. Over 30 new creations were shared, which is quite a feat for what is ultimately a small rare pair in the corner of a very large fandom. I love this ship and I love my fellow fans, and I hope you all had as much fun as I did this week!
Some quick bookkeeping notes:
The AO3 collection will remain open for another week or so - if you haven't submitted something you've created to the collection, please do so! If you're posting late but the intention was for the piece to be for Velkleya week, please feel free to tag it and add it to the collection; life gets away from all of us at times.
A master list will be created and posted next weekend. If you would like for your creation to not be included, please send me a message - no questions asked.
Velkleya Week 2027 will likely take place from May 9-15th, 2027. New prompts, firm dates, and an info post will be shared in the new year.
If you have any recommendations or requests for next year's event, or any feedback regarding this year - things you'd like to see done differently, things that didn't work for you, etc. - my ask box is open.
And finally: we would love to have you join the Yavin Yurt discord server if you enjoy this ship of ours - the more the merrier!

Written for @velkleyaweek 2026, Day 3: Truths and Falsehoods, Fake Dating, Undercover Missions, White Lies
This is the first time I'm ever posting something I've written. So, I'm a little nervous. But, I love Vel and Kleya and this idea popped into my head and I had to write it.
(I did changed the wording of the prompt a little bit which I hope is ok)
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy!
Prompt: "I'm not the first person you loved": Second Loves
āI know Kleya isnāt the first person you loved. And Iām not implying you should let Cinta go.ā
Velās chair scraped harshly against the wooden floor as she abruptly stood up and walked over to the kitchen. Even from her place at the table, Mon could see tension cutting through her cousinās back.
āMy heart truly breaks that you lost her so soon. You both deserved so much more,ā she pressed on. āYou truly love her and that will never change.ā
Mon slowly stood up and walked slowly over to the counter. The late afternoon sunshine cast the profile of Velās bowed head in shadow. She looked down and saw the white-knuckled grip her cousin had on the woodās edge.
āBut, that also doesnāt mean that you should completely shield your heart forever.ā Mon gently placed her hand on top of Velās. The muscles in Velās hand flexed even more, but Mon didnāt move her hand.
āIāve watched you and Kleya. How easily she has fit into your life and you into hers. How you both look for and to each other. How one of you always knows what the other needs. You both have fought so hard, lost and sacrificed so much.ā
Mon moved closer to Vel and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
āThat truly is love. And you both deserve to have a person that knows and understands. It may feel different than loving Cinta. But the thing about love is that it isnāt finite. Your heart will always create more.ā
