I just found a tiny kitten in the grass and he’s so scrawny and malnourished, he’s climbing all over me and not afraid of humans at all and I’m running to a pet store to buy milk asap because I have to feed this little walking stick but holy shit how did this happen to me

tiny kitten update:

TW: possible animal death/sickness

we bought food and milk as advised to mix them together to feed him, he ate a tiny bit of wet food but suddenly he has lost all energy and can’t hold his own weight anymore and his head is going limp.

I’ve wrapped him in some cloth to make him comfortable and let him rest. He still meows from time to time but I’m trying to push back tears and expect the worst/hope for the best. I’ve called every vet and animal hospital in my area and not a single one will let us walk in. He’s fighting right now but idk how this will turn out at all.

Currently trying to find out if the animal shelter will even let us bring him in because I understand babies need to meet a certain weight and even age (I think) and he’s just so frail I don’t think they’ll accept him.

As comfortably and warm as he could be, the little guy did not make it. I really wanted to see him come out alive and strong from this, but there is a reason everything happens and in this case, there was just nothing more we could do for him. He was loved for the few hours I knew him and I hope that’s enough. We are going to bury him now, and I’m doing my best to stay positive. Wishing him all the warmth and happiness in kitty heaven.

you know what I need to do? I need to pet a puppy. Or a kitty. Just cuddle with a little baby animal. My whole day could be going so wrong but if you brought me a little baby animal I would forget about it in a nanosecond.
