hi i’m velvette-angel 🖤 long-time sims 2 player, professional enjoyer of drama, chaos, and storytelling.

this blog is me starting a brand new fresh save with plans to build a megahood — slowly, because i value my sanity. i’ll be adding one neighborhood at a time so things stay (somewhat) manageable. no promises though.

so i haven’t been playing the sims much lately (life happens 🙄), but i’ve been slowly getting back into it… and now i’m fully hooked again.

i started a little bacc challenge for myself and um?? i’m actually obsessed with this neighborhood. like… already emotionally attached. so obviously i need to start posting it here.

fair warning though — i’ve already been playing in the hood for a bit, so we’re not starting from zero 😌 but honestly? it completely revived my love for sims 2, so i’m planning to upload the neighborhood + all the sims in it little by little.

stay tuned… things are about to get fun 💅

Hi lazyduchess! You're a treasure to the sims 2 community 😀 I've always wished there was a mod for sims to autonomously get engaged orbreak up. It was supposed to be a feature of ACR but I think the creator gave up on the idea as they couldn't get it to work. Would it be possible to create such a mod? I would love for my sims to get engaged or break up on their own! Thank you for all the amazing mods ❤

12/13/2020 Update: Now going steady Sims can autonomously break up (including teens) and added a version for Midge’s Propose Engagement Requires Going Steady.

So I got a lil bit carried away and added like... a lot of tuning options. I decided to integrate the traits project into it as well, got an ask about that earlier and I thought this would be a good chance to add some extra depth if you use that mod. 

The chances for these happening depend on the relationship level, love/crush statuses, richness if they have the fortune aspiration, furiousness, etc.

But yes, as requested, here’s autonomous engagement + break ups:

Standard version: SFS / Dropbox

Propose Engagement Requires Going Steady version: SFS / Dropbox

Tuning:

“ld_auto_breakup.package” contains the tuning for the break up interaction, and “ld_auto_engagement.package” for engagements. You can open these with SimPe and modify the Tuning BCON.

If you wish to make these rarer or more common easily without getting too much into the small details you can change the “Chance - Out Of” and Cooldowns. I’ve made the cooldowns for selectable Sims higher since you’re gonna be playing them it’s naturally more likely for them to roll the interactions.

“STR” and “LTR” in the Tuning file refer to Short Term Relationship and Long Term Relationship, respectively.

I haven’t added this mod to my Mod Setup (yet at least) because of the sheer amount of tunable options there are.

I think I’ve reached a good balance where it’s kind of rare but still happens, although break ups are more likely to happen than engagements, but only if the relationship is bad.

dina saw mortimer and immediately sprinted downstairs to give him a big ol’ smooch… in her swimwear. 🩱💋 priorities: money, chaos, zero shame. honestly, is anyone even surprised at this point? 💸🔥

dina decided to take matters into her own hands and propose to mortimer… because if she leaves it up to him, it might literally never happen. 💍🙃 priorities: money, control, and maximum drama.

mortimer said yes, and dina is very pleased. 💍 obviously she’s in it for the money… but mortimer? he’s just here for the ass, and right now he’s staring at some random townie walking by. yeah, this marriage is already off to a great start. 🙃🔥

Don finally got Trudy the grandma out of the hot tub and thought he could woohoo with Nina in peace. Wrong. Trudy just stood there, staring like she was judging every life choice he’d ever made.

Nina went home. Don invited her twin Dina over to woohoo. Chaos continues. Don’t worry, Trudy is still there judging everyone

At some point, when Don and Nina moved over to the bed for woohoo, Trudy finally decided to give them some space and evacuate the room. Probably off to enjoy the hot tub in peace—can’t blame her.

In accordance with the almighty premade guide, Don rang up Nina to come over. For lore reasons. And woohoo reasons. Stayed on the phone longer than necessary because his sloppy ass refused to clean his own house, so obviously the maid had to be summoned first. Priorities.

When Nina arrived, it didn’t take long for Don to convince her to join him in the hot tub. His dreams of hot tub woohoo were immediately shattered when some random garden club grandma broke into the house, uninvited, and climbed in with them.

While chaos unfolded, Kaylynn Langerak peacefully cleaned the house, blissfully unaware. She finished up and left without catching Don cheating with Nina—sometimes ignorance really is bliss.
