HONOR PARK.
A defunct IS safe house was a perfect place to temporarily store some of her equipment. She would have normally left it in one of the bunker’s storage rooms, but her card just didn’t have the security access, not since she was listed as an inactive agent. After the losing a few rangers in the Dome incident, Honor just wasn’t the same. It took her some time to sort out her issues, but she found herself again and learned that she had a new brand of heroism. She unlatched her mask and placed it down on the counter before approached her work bench.
The weapons master grabbed a remote and turned on the music system before she worked on sharpening a sword, trying to get it to where it needed to be again. With all the noise around her to drown out her thoughts, she almost didn’t catch the presence of her visitor, but her abilities made her skin prickle with awareness. She turned with her blade in hand. “I don’t normally take requests in my worksho- Di- I mean… Miss Elwyn, hello!” She lowered the weapon.

every now and again, when vera had the time to be sentimental, she would miss her old team. and why wouldn’t she? she spent a significant amount of time with them. with the rangers, her agents, her team. she would always try to keep her personal attachment to them at bay, and for the most part, vera was successful. she cared for them, though. she always had and always would. those at inner sanctum were her family when she lost hers. it only made sense to show she cared every once in a while.
vera cared, yes. and that’s why she always kept her ears and eyes open; to the ground, to the skies in the hopes of hearing anything new about those who had left and were no longer apart of inner sanctum. she would get news here and there about past agents. some had moved far, far away from the city long ago, some had stayed and gone underground, radio silent. of course, she never reached out. knowing that they were alright and living a life they wanted was enough for her. that changed though when vera caught wind of ex-ranger honor park, who had taken it upon herself to set up shop at an unused safe house. she wasn’t to be treated as a hostile, of course - but to a few new faces at inner sanctum, honor’s presence caused suspicion.
upon entering the safe house, it was exactly what vera imagined it would look like. - for the most part. run down and dusty and even a little hollow. but seeing the back of honor working away causing a sense of welcomed familiarity. miss elwyn. no longer a ranger or apart of the inner sanctum and yet respect is still instilled into honor. or, the girl was born to be polite as all hell. “honor,” vera greets the young woman with a casual smile, “it’s good to see you.” attentive hues glance over the workspace.
"this is what you've been doing?" she asks, eyes drifting back to honor with the weapon still in her hands. moving forward to stand beside the young woman, vera's eyes dart of the other pieces honor has put together. "i wouldn't have expected anything less from you." she comments with a small smile of pride illuminating red painted lips. there's always been a spark within honor that vera wanted to desperately nurture. but, with the world ending on multiple occasions - and then eventually stepping down as inner sanctums director to pursue something else, it was rather unimaginable at the time.
vera could have tried harder, though. she could always try harder. -- - that’s also why she’s here in the first place. “how’ve you been?” vera turns, her sights fully locking onto honor.
