Thanks @psychic-waffles for sharing this BTS video!
And MORE 九门 promo from today!
This compilation of returning Tombs faces has led me to some hooting and hollering at this early hour of the morning, which I will politely quarantine behind a cut:
I had not spent long staring at the cast list at all, so I basically got bodied by two of these:
O.G. HENDRY COX! I'm so happy, I hate him so much, he is the worst~
Also, New Er Yuehong is also Zhang Ruipu from the Archives? Yes, okay, that is exactly the level of sinister middle-aged faggotry I want brought to this role. I am sad to lose Lay, but I was already gearing myself up to give somebody else a shot at winning me over. Now? Fully on board.
And then yeah, okay, I suppose I got caught a little flat-footed by what a fucking dweeb they've made up Liu Chang as, to the point where I was squinting and going, who's that guy? I guess if we don't have a buck-toothed arsonist to fawn over, we can console ourselves by shoving this twerp homoerotically into a locker. I hope his character gets a high-school-movie ugly-girl glowup where he takes off his glasses and lets down his hair and is suddenly Disney-princess beautiful.
Seriously, though, I am most excited about getting that Hendry Cox back. That was a man who understood the assignment, and the assignment was to be the fucking worst. A proper Tombs show deserves a proper antagonist! Why struggle against a mere mediocre white man when you can reach all the way to the bottom of the barrel? Ugh. Delightful.

Oh hey pals, new AO3 scam just hit!
Just like the tumblr scam where they pretend to be "the support team" this is also a scam.
I edited out the link because I GUARANTEE if you go to it you will get your computer hacked and your AO3 or discord account stolen.
I am so mad because I got this 30 seconds after posting a new fic.
DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMS.
No legitimate website support will EVER contact you like this!

everyone i've talked to about this has been completely unaware so: if you didn't know already, there's going to be a solar eclipse, with totality or coverage of 90% or more in some places, over a lot of europe, on august 12th 2026. in the uk it will start just after 6pm, and the maximum will be at 7:13pm.
here is a map of the path of the eclipse (from timeanddate)
get eclipse glasses if you want to look at it. it is not safe to look at through sunglasses. ok informative post over o7
mostly missing me but i know a bunch of folks that are right in the path 🥰 enjoy it for me, my lovelies!
Making "oog. Waugh. 🥺" kinds of noises after being reminded of a very basic fact about blorbo I already knew

World History in a Year - Extras (100s BC, China)
Artefacts placed in tombs or aristocrats during the Han Dynasty included pottery models of village buildings, to be used by the deceased in the afterlife. These are a great way to get a sense of Han architecture, since a lot of it was made of wood and other perishable materials and isn't still intact.
In this photo, the background shows three types of watchtowers (the models are a couple feet tall) in the background along with the four key elements of a home in the foreground: left to right, they are a stove, a granary, a house with an interior courtyard, and a well.
There's also little models of animal pens, with sheep, goats, ducks, and geese:
