Source (and a longer explanation of how they actually did it): http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/voltaire-broke-the-lottery/ Oh also. Hi! This tumblr now has more than 250 followers! I honestly never would have expected that. Like, one time a few years ago I made a tumblr and I got like, five followers? Maybe? So you guys are great and I feel great and thank you so much and I’ll definitely keep putting out silly history pictures.

Source (and slightly longer descriptions of the true events this comic is based on): http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/management-secrets-of-genghis-khan/
Genghis Khan makes me disappointed in modern fictional villains. He’s like a decades-long natural disaster, with a death-toll that would fit in with a list of history’s worst plagues, and he did it in the 1200′s. Writers gotta get their acts together.

I’m Korwin! I made this! It’s got like a million billion notes! I don’t even know what to do with myself.
Um. My actual non-tumblr site is www.VeritableHokum.com.
Oh and here’s where I wrote up little profiles of all those people up there: http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/the-greek-god-family-tree/
EDIT: HEY ALSO! I sell posters now! Including one of this one! http://store.veritablehokum.com/collections/posters/products/the-greek-god-family-tree Source (and written profiles on everyone pictured): http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/the-greek-god-family-tree/
Some kind soul posted a screencapped version of this from my site, and I only noticed today when suddenly hundreds of Tumblr folks arrived looking for more content. Like I actually got emails asking for more.
So anyway here I am! Excited and terrified and at your service. And I hope I don’t break any unwritten rules or anything while I’m figuring this whole Tumblr thing out.
Love, Korwin
Source (and serious discussion of a conspiracy theory I probably made up about Frederick the Great): http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/potato-ii-potato-rises/This is part 2 out of 3 of me spending more time than anyone expected on the history of potatoes.

Source: http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/potato-begins/
The first week I had my comic up, I started a poll on what to spend multiple comics explaining. More or less everyone voted for “A Vegetable” so I got stuck reading about potatoes for like three weeks.
This is part 1.
Source (which also contains a link to the most fabulous photo of Liberace I’ve ever seen seriously he looks like a flamingo): http://www.veritablehokum.com/comic/what-to-wear-in-1785-2/
I keep accidentally posting these to my own Tumblr, which has literally no posts on it. If you’d like to see a totally empty default Tumblr occasionally post and delete comics... korwinbriggs.tumblr.com
