Vernal Redblades is a xenofiction/xenomoggy series set in a strange land where humans never evolved, but another species did. This series REQUIRES critical reading and does not endorse any wrongful actions done by any character in the series.
If you want a lighthearted xenomoggy, this isn't for you.
Author uses he/him pronouns.

My askbox is ALWAYS OPEN!
Please ask me things! It can be general worldbuilding questions, character questions, suggestions, playlist requests for certain characters, and a lot more! No topics are off the table, except the obvious sexual ones and general hate messages. Ask me things!
I know I don't update this blog often, but it needs to be said.
I won't be creating content for this blog during the Global Strike (18th - 25th) and that includes all the internal progress I've made over the last month.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
Sorry for the lack of updates lately! Been working on another project the last few months! I will be doing some palette art, so just send some palettes you think I should draw any named characters with! If you'd like to stay anonymous, then please say so in the ask!
What are the rules/structure for your naming system 👀
okay so i was in the middle of writing this post and then proceeded to think about conlangs for a moment too long and then researched naming systems across human history. This post will be edited once I have a fully fleshed out grammar system for my conlang. sorry to the asker, hope you enjoy the a Romanized version of their naming scheme.
---
OKAYOKAY!! first ask of the new year! yippee!
The Syndicate naming system is:
(First name) [Prefix-suffix last name]
Their last name depends on two things when I chose it: canon counterparts, if they have any, and story purpose.
Plus, cats can get married and chose hyphenated last names or just chose combine names during the ceremony.
The Wandering Pride's naming system is:
(First name) [Single word last name]
Note, if a cat has come from the Syndicate, then their last name will be changed into their suffix's last name.
The Skybroken Guild's naming system is:
(First name) {Season born in} [Moon phase born under]
I have a lot of words about the Skybroken Guild that will be saved for it's official culture post, which is somewhere in my drafts.
alright. just finished up all the fealty listings for blood (heartbeat book 1) so. the redux is being fleshed out more !!! yay!!
also im debating making a new icon since a lot of the themes have changed from the original drafts i have.. i might just make it Komodo's dumbass face. hes so stupid. <3
is there a like..... xenomoggy discord maybe.................. idk im very new to this-
There is not and while I have definitely thought about making one I am generally speaking not the optimal community leader because I am a little guy with 4+ diagnoses and I already struggle to manage the server I already have lol
My friends and I are actually making a xenofiction server, there's only one already on Discord and it's 18+ so we're making our own >:D It's gonna be super fun, I can invite people when it's ready!
FROTHING AT THE MOUTH RRHRHGRGHRHJBRHBJRHBGRHBRHNRHBRHB
anyways. sanity. uh. this is a general question but what do you think is the main theme of this xenomoggy?
HEHEH IM GLAD YOU ENJOY MY WORK SO FAR!!
currently, my drafts for each arc are very indistinct from each other, but the first arc's theme is rather simple: Happiness cannot exist if you cannot define what passion is.
Komodo is going to have to work his way through life without direction in arc 1, and its only that in the final chapter something interesting happens, and he understands.
The general theme for the entire project is more simple than that: Change through art.
Genuinely debating having each arc be told using different mediums (Arc 1 in writing, 2 in poetry, 3 in comic, 4 as drawn traditionally, 5 in writing (again), and 6 through animation + writing) to emphasize this point. But that would be a lot of work, so I'm unsure.
A lot is still up in the air. I don't really know where this project is heading, but I want to make sure one thing is clear in it's themes: Time and Change.
adora is the protag of her book, and it is heavily based off warrior cats but we ball, and i forgot to add them to bluebell but his group has varying horns and stuff :p
adora can be likened to firestar but more woman and autism if u get what i'm sayin lol
everythings spinning in my brain i just need to start writing stuff down >:3
Vernal Redblade's main story hurdle is oppression and change, and that includes a change of culture. At the start of the first arc, Heartbeat, the Syndicate is very religious and heavily abuses the 'Manifest Destiny' excuse ("It is our will to live here", "It is our right", et cetera.) in history lessons. This is a bad thing in the sense that their religion needs to be toned down.
Below the cut is a large wall of text with minimal breaks.
The Afterlife
Life after Death
The Limitless Skies / The Writhing Earth / The Endless Ocean
It's sub-name changes depending on the culture, but the general idea is the same. Upon death, each cat will be placed within a section of the afterlife. Good cats or very important religious or historical figures get placed within the correlating district of the afterlife. For example, a cat from the Coalition of the Sky would probably get placed in the Limitless Skies district, but if they were horrid, they'd be tossed into the Endless Ocean or Writhing Earth.
It is very much seen as horror to be thrown into other districts than your own, because of the learning curve. A cat can learn to swim if they have huge claws, but a cat can't even learnt to fly without the proper wings.
Even more interesting, it is generally believed by the Syndicate that every single cat gets a fair ruling into the Afterlife. This is untrue. each cat's ruling is executed by a jury of five who cannot be related to the cat and who have never or barely known the cat in life.
Often, the ruling is very unfair and ends with the cat being deemed unworthy of proper placement or "just too good" when they were actually a very manipulative tyrant.
Often, the Deities of Legend could weigh in on the ruling based on their experience, but that privilege is often reserved for very religious cats or when the jury cannot come to a conclusion.
There will be a few follow-up posts with this topic, but the post dates are to be determined. Each of them are rather large posts.
So, I've been doing a lot more poetry work and items of the like, and I wanted to ask what you guys would prefer in terms of artwork for this project! I may have all three of these things prepared, so depending on what "wins" then I'll probably post that first.
Preferences? ^^
I prefer to see digital/traditional artwork
I prefer to see poetry
I prefer to see writing (scenes, informational posts, etc.)
