OKAY LISTEN UP BECAUSE THERE IS SOMETHING SUPER IMPORTANT ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN AND MOST OF YOU PROBABLY DON’T KNOW
It’s the inclusion of Storm. (Storm? Pretty sure that’s Storm.) And in a way where, yes, representation saves lives.
See, here’s a weird medical fact: black women are more likely to get breast cancer and nobody knows why. It’s a medical mystery. Now, I want you to do a fun exercise: tell me the last time you saw a breast cancer awareness campaign that included black women. Go on, I’ll wait. Speaking as someone active with the cause whose aunt is even more active with the cause, here’s my answer: In eight years of working for awareness across four states, I have never seen a single black woman in any breast cancer campaign. Ever.
Black women are also more likely to die of breast cancer because they’re less likely to catch it early. That’s not genetics, that’s math. The sooner you begin treatment, the better your prognosis. Black women are less likely to know how to do self-exams and because of the socioeconomic divide, less likely to see an OB/GYN annually. And they’re ignored by awareness campaigns.
Tell your black friends. And spread this like wildfire. Because they are more at risk than you are.
The way you dress is never an excuse for what other people do to you. Sure, you can wear something that’s a bit more revealing but that does not give anybody else the right to do whatever they want to you. That’s a fucked up type of mentality so do not think that way about yourself

So the Titanic II was supposed to set sail this year... Then it didn't. I don't know why but that upsets me more than it should. 2016 sucked.
The worst part about having mental health issues is that you’re seemingly required to have a breakdown in order for people to understand how hard you were trying to hold yourself together.
I have never seen it explained so well.
Apparently the severity of pain or suffering is measured accoring to it outwardly manifesting and inconveniencing others.
Texas has passed a humiliating law that requires fetal remains from abortion or miscarriage to be buried or cremated
Under the new rule, hospitals, abortion clinics, and other health care facilities are prohibited from disposing of fetal remains in sanitary landfills. Instead, they must finance cremation or burial of the remains. Texas made this clarification in response to outrage about privacy concerns.
I’m deeply upset about this. The absurd restrictions here keep growing. In just the time that’s I’ve lived in Texas (since 2009) there’s been more BS passed against abortion access than I can count. I’m *TIRED* y'all. I’ll keep fighting and donating to Lilith Fund, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood, but I’m so TIRED.

Texas Republicans are really uncomfortable with LGBT kids. First, they blocked a federal order to allow trans students in public schools to use the bathrooms...
Yes. Really.
A Republican state senator in Texas has introduced a subtle-but-not-so-subtle bill that would require teachers to tell a student’s parents basically everything they know about a student, with or without the student’s consent – including the student’s sexual orientation and/or gender identity. In other words: outing.
Sen. Konni Burton introduced a bill on Thursday – days before the national Transgender Day of Remembrance – that would require public schools give parents “any general knowledge regarding the parent’s child possessed by an employee of the district” and records "relating to the child’s general physical, psychological or emotional well-being.” This may sound vague — and even harmless. But Burton has explicitly said this is a response to guidelines adopted by Fort Worth school district earlier this year, guidelines that banned staff from telling parents about their child’s transgender status. The rule was quickly extinguished by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Texas’ leader in anti-LGBT policies. According to LGBT rights groups, Burton’s bill is a direct attack on a vulnerable population: LGBT kids who aren’t ready to come out to their parents — but want to talk about it with someone they trust. In many cases, that’s a school counselor.
Unbefreakinglievable. This violates basic principles of trust between students and school staff – and don’t even get me started on basic human decency. If someone has told a teacher or counselor they’re LGBTQ but hasn’t told their parents yet, there’s probably a reason why. If it goes into law, this bill would literally put kids in danger. And for what? The “right to know” at all costs?
Equality Texas is circulating an action where Texans can write to their state senators to ask them to oppose the bill. Everyone else: tell an LGBTQ young person – including yourself – how great they are today.
Seriously though that’s all you need to do not just with gay and lesbian people but with ANY PERSON IN GENERAL!
Talk to anyone like a normal person and treat them like a normal person no matter their sexuality, appearance, race, faith/religion, gender identity, etc. We’re all human beings at the end of the day and we should treat others how we want to be treated ourselves and not be judged and disrespected for who we genuinely are. Unless someone else is being mean and completely disrespectful towards you, don’t be judgmental towards others and treat them all with respect and talk to them like you would any person.
