I got an AO3 comment once which summarised said, 'I've been reading this fic for years and I keep coming back to it over and over because it's so amazing and I feel guilty that all this time I never commented, so this is me letting you know how much it's meant to me for so long.' And that was incredible, because five minutes before I didn't know that person existed and then they tell me that I've made such an impact on them.

I tell people all the time(and genuinely believe) that virgins write some of the best smut. There's this layer of romanticism and idealization that y'all have that just makes sex scenes so juicey and delectable. Its about the feeling that you bring to the table and the fact that virgin smut writers are less focused on the technical and more focused on the feeling of everything/the way writing it makes them feel. Just makes for the best soup.
Life with a partner and a familiar who can communicate with each other freely is convenient at best and ... odd, at worst.
It's convenient when Faust is lounging on the sunny windowsill while you take a bath, only to realize that you're out of soap. It's less than a minute before Asra appears with a new bar. Or if you're out with Asra, and they characteristically remember to bring everything except what they actually needed on a quick errand. It's less than five minutes before Faust drops from the shadows of a shop awning with the needed item in her mouth. It's very convenient when one of them is out on their daily side quests and needs help, and the two of you can set off right away to make sure they're okay.
It does get odd, though, when you can't make surprise plans without leaving both of them out of the secret. And oh, how difficult it is to keep anything secret when there's only one of them involved! The few times they aren't able to sus it out, they'll team up to charm it out of you. First it's Faust riding everywhere on your shoulder and booping you with snisses (snake kisses) while she asks about what you're doing, then it's Asra giving you wisses (wizard kisses - he's workshopping it), and then it's both of them cuddling up to you with silly grins and promises of tea and snacks and a day off work sleeping in with breakfast in bed, and -

Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist).
As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.
(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)
Everyone reblog! Spread the word so more and more artists learn that in addition to Glaze that coats art against ai scraping mimicry there's also an offensive tool now, able to skew and poison data pools.
Now poisoning will need many artists to nightshade their art and it's most important to get this ou to those the most at risk of being scraped. Reblog!
ICYMI, there was fear that companies were scraping public AO3 fics to train their AI without the consent of AO3 or its users. That fear has been confirmed.
AO3 has written about what they’re doing (and what they’re not able to do), and they recommend restricting your work to AO3 registered users only. [Instructions here]
This gross misuse of the archive by techbros is why I’ve locked down my fics for the foreseeable future. I recommend the rest of you do the same.

Apprentice Snikker is just called Snikker, no official last name.
She is an eccentric woman in her mid twenties who is often described as weird, clingy but kind with an odd sense of humor. She comes across as an absolute scatter brain, but is very observant and quite intelligent - even if a bit paranoid. Aside from being a powerful magician, she is also a tailor and in charge of creating most of the masquerade outfits.
She is short (5′3), bottom heavy (pear shaped), with long (knee length) red (wine) hair, pale skin and big, bright, blue eyes that make her look almost like a doll.
She dresses very plainly most of the time, and usually makes her own clothes with fabric scraps from left over projects, or commissions. She generally dresses in a style similar to Mori Kei, or Dolly Kei, and tends to wear a lot of red. She walks with a cane which resembles a sheep crock.
