Hello my beautiful human body! I’ve invited you here today to discuss adopting non-mucus-based solutions to common challenges—
no one will ever know how often this is stuck in my head. can't believe it's not streaming anywhere but my old post
Decided to make maybe a patchwork chair cover thing? Hexagonal shapes because the triangle scant 1/4th inch thing I find too confusing, and the stripes are already causing enough brain problems for me.
I'm unpicking the seams of another one of my great-grandparents' kimonos and I'm always struck by 1) how strong the stitches are, like I have to rip so many times in the same place to get it even a little loose, when 2) they're not backstitches even, they're kind of like a blind hem stitch? so it would have been fairly quick work, and 3) the quality of the thread!!! it's so thick and nice and cord-like, I actually saved some by only ripping one end of the thread and painstakingly pulling it through whole.
Anyway I already made myself a top from this one, and then with the offcuts of that I made a scrunchie and 2 keychains. Now I'm disassembling the rest to hopefully make a quilt. Possibly will keep the top part and ask my grandma if she wants it as a vest. But even though that sounds like a lot, these actually don't yield very much yardage because they were quite small people lol.
“Can we make this part short? The part where we don’t talk anymore?” is such a good lyric you’d think it comes from Shakespeare but it’s actually from a bit of improvised product placement for a fictional snack company that sells strawberry shortcake and/or steak in little pringles cans.
all of these songs are always stuck in my head and i luv it

ⓘ Tip: while sewing, you can unlock scary sewing by losing your needle somewhere on your bed.
i did this every night last month
I do not want the ai overview. I want to read six wikipedia pages as god intended.
'it's inscrutable' to you maybe. i scrote it just fine
there is no amount of language learning that is useless. I think it obviously scales up in wonderfulness as you learn more, but even just being at the point where you can recognize what language is being spoken or written is still a more useful thing than not knowing that. it is lovely to say hi to people in their language! any attempt to learn is important. you don't get fluent overnight. and you don't have to get fluent overnight. more knowledge is better than none. it isn't just all or nothing.
binch the more languages i learn the worse my english has become and i don’t think it’s been worth it 🫠
