My brother just cannot understand why using narcissistic as an insult is wrong.

I tried so hard to explain it and just kept getting met with, “but it’s right though” or “but he is narcissistic” and I tried to tell him that that’s not the point. The point is contributing to the stigma around NPD by using it as an insult and implying that the reason a person is bad is because of NPD.

It doesn’t matter if the person actually has NPD. It doesn’t matter if it does affect their behavior. What makes them bad is their actions. But nooo, apparently because “narcissism affects their actions” that must make it okay.

I’m so god damn tired. I tried pointing out that I’d seen similar rhetoric with my own disorder, and he just said “that’s different though.” It’s not. The only thing that’s made it different is that you know me and I have that disorder. If I didn’t? If the guy we were talking about had what I had? It wouldn’t be different.

A person with anxiety being happy isnt romanticizing!!!

Any disabled person in anyway existing and feeling joy with their disabilities isnt romanticizing it. Disabled people can be happy!!

Im sick of seeing people online say that disabled people post jokes or positive things about their disability romanticization, and honestly it just comes off as "dont post about your disabilities unless your being negative because I only think of disabled people in a negative light"
