I feel like what isn’t talked about enough in the TMA fandom is Elias’s fear of losing his eyes.
I mean, we’ve established that’s how Jonah passes on, right?
And wouldn’t it be natural for you to fear your eyes, the literal vessels of your soul, being damaged or hurt in any way?
ESPECIALLY from the way Jonah fears death?
I mean…
One simple scratch to the retina could keep him from transferring both eyes, fuck up the transfer of his soul or could damage his eyesight, which paired with his ability to See shouldn’t be concerning…
But still.
I need an extra panicky Elias absolutely shrieking Peter come quickly this instant something got in my eye I can’t see I can’t see I can’t see I can’t SEE OH MY FUCKING GOD DO SOMETHING.

Also why I personally think Elias hates glitter bombs. As a concept, he thinks they’re funny, but as a whole logistical issue and his fear of something SOMEHOW damaging his precious eyes and causing his inadvertent death he absolutely despises them.
I think he also hates that he wears reading glasses. I mean, these are Jonah’s eyes. HIS thousand year old eyes. God damn it they should be fully functional. THEY SHOULD BE. HE SHOULDN’T BE NEEDING GLASSES HIS WHOLE AVATAR THING IS EYES.

At this point he rarely even indulges in reading, partly because he can just Know the contents of whatever he’s reading, and partly because it’s a weakness he doesn’t like to be confronted by.
