me: grows up with a fractured identity, cptsd, and a personality disorder, along with some spicy pinches of substance abuse and depression

Shane’s video is so disgusting. It puts a stigma around personality disorders and mental illness by adding ‘creepy’ music while talking about sociopaths and psychopaths and reinforcing the idea that they’re bad, evil, gross people. Not to mention the woman he brought in was SO unprofessional and has said ‘ew’ and ‘gross’ about these people and basically said they’re unfixable and that they’ll manipulate you when that’s STIGMA I hope shane will do the right thing and fix all of this but he probably won’t. I love Shane but this is too far, too much, it’s so sickening to see him basically accuse these people of being scary and everyone making jokes about how everyone around them is a sociopath
SUUURE it is, then why did you watch it till the end???
Haven’t watched any since that video besides the slight apology at the beginning of 3 watching Shane continue to sink himself deeper into the hole of dehumanizing sociopaths and mischaracterizing them isn’t for me chief but go off tea sis hunty wig snatched
I wonder if Kati Morton was ever taught ethics when she became a therapist, or of she just ignores them? 🤔🤔🤔
I read someone on the subreddit say ‘it appears like Kati is a YouTuber first and a therapist second, or even, a YouTuber with a degree’
And even then, we dont know his thought or editing process. There might be more to the story than any of us know so before you go and say he was being a bad person for "demonizing" people, just THINK about the other factors that we cannot know because we are not that person. Hes trying, that's all anyone can say
He did make a Snapchat story explaining how he didn’t intend to hurt people but has gone and liked posts defending this therapist n has not spoken out against her despite her making another disgusting video on sociopaths and him supporting her putting out a book despite the relentless comments
Yiiiiiikes, it was meant for the sociopaths who DON'T struggle because they DONT care. You really think it was his soul intent just to make people with ASPD look like evil beings when all he was doing was trying to equate bad traits (like every disorder) that they have to Jake Paul's choices? Yeah, I'll admit, the editing made it look bad, but he obviously didnt mean for it to offend people. But I guess you all just wanna stay pressed about SOMETHING right?
‘It was meant for those who don’t care’ I never heard ‘of course not ALL sociopaths are like this’
Shane has literally said that he wasn't trying to make people with that disorder look bad or demonize them. He was only talking about full blown sociopaths who dont care about anything. It's not meant to generalize those who do struggle and want to get better. Hes talking about those who really dont. And even then, it wasn't him who said these things, remember? It was the therapist. He didnt accuse anyone. Everything was explained on his SnapChat story
On his Snapchat that failed to come out pre-recording and then he liked certain posts/continued to promote this therapist AFTER she said these things, he knew the outrage, AND she released a video continuing to call sociopaths gross
Do you ever just go wow I have a lot of repressed anger

sorry shane but the moment someone starts stigmatising mental illness for entertainment i gotta blast
i very much understand that this is entertainment. i get it. like putting spooky music behind someone describing a bunch of symptoms such as “lack of empathy” and “lack of remorse” is like entertaining and engaging
but it just reinforces these stereotypes that mental illness is scary and anyone with antisocial personality disorder you should be afraid of, when that’s just not the case, and it does so much more harm than good PARTICULARLY for those people that are struggling
i just feel like this episode was not handled with a lot of care, and it should’ve been, because you’re discussing something really serious and really important. idk. maybe i’m being too soft but i don’t feel great about it at all
